I'm in Northwest Tennessee (well right NOT I'm in Indy, but will
be home next week :-) ) so that's not out of the question...

It's a smallish hamfest but it's worth the drive to me. Hopefully it would
be for you also. If you do decide to come down for it, please let me know!
I know my dad, Lyle KD7SXQ, and my good friend, Scott KN4UWP, should be
going but that's far enough off to where things could change.

I don't know if Shelby's back on or not.
Shelby County or ShelbyVILLE or what?

The Shelby, NC 28150 hamfest. I think some people call it Shelbyville but
    it may be a mistake.

Yeah - probably too far to drive... Wife supports my interests, but doesn't share them all, and that's a long drive. :-)

If I was going to drive again, I'd really just wait and go to Hamvention. Shelby is a six hour round trip in one day while Hamvention is a twelve hour drive round trip. I'd rather spend the time and gas going to Hamvention but if my dad KD7SXQ is going I'll ride along with him. These days, me and longish road trips don't get along though a few years ago I was driving to Williamsport, PA, in a single eleven hour trip each way for work every other week.

    Never again.

Driving to Hamvention really wouldn't be too bad for me to do alone but I'd probably bring along my dad and a few ham friends locally to split the gas and drivers. If I manage to get myself a working motorhome, that would be even better (or a vehicle and a little 16' Scamp trailer for myself).

    73,
    Sean KD5COL
