Hello Sean!

Hello Vincent,
I just built Eugene's new GoldEd from scratch and it works great.
Here's how I did it, step by step, so you do not have to rely on a
broken script to install it on my Slackware 15 BBS server ('./' is ./golded-plus):
1) git clone https://github.com/golded-plus/golded-plus.git
2) cd ./golded-plus
3) edit ./golded3/mygolded.__h using the instructions in the file;
save it as mygolded.h
4) mkdir ./build
5) cd build
6) cmake
That fails so had to use :
cmake ../..
7) make
Et voila! a fresh new build of GoldEd.
I ran into a single warning from the GED source about an ignored
attribute
(harmless) and a few harmless warnings from ld.
I got a few more but none looked dangerous.
That's it, nothing else.
I renamed the binary to 'gedlnx' from 'golded' to fit my existing
scripts, chmod +x, and dropped the binary directly into my existing
GED install. The
new binary works great--I'm using it now.
I then cd golded3 and ran ./golded and that works but still have to hit return on a blank screen before it comes up with correct one. This is most puzzling as
only a week or two ago it was working normally but I have had some Mageia updates installed and I have rebooted - JIC and no I do not bother normally unless it has any critical ones such as clibc updates.
I also cp -p goldnode and rddt (don't use that one as far as I remember).
the golded build from this process looks to be same version as via golded-plus-master.
It would be helpful if one can get the exact version number on the display instead of just the 1.1.5 that has been used since Odinn worked on it some 26+ years ago.
If need be, I'd be happy to make an installation video to help.
Nope, all sorted but am still puzzled about the need to press enter on starting
Golded.
Thanks for the help.
Vincent
