There is no future. Not sure about anyone else but most of my callers
are other sysops or users wanting to relive the good times and call a
few times and then that's that.

People, generally, are not bothered about bulletin boards any more, not when they can have instant email and instant news from the site of
their choice. If they want to talk to people, they have facebook, if
they want to view images, they don't have to download them, they can go
to Instragram. If they want to real time chat, they have snap chat.

Until someone can find a way to make board relevant in the modern
society, you're doomed to talking to the same people on the same boards about the same subjects.

That might be the case indeed, but I still believe that there is some
    hope in our cause.

The problem is that before it was really easy to get users. A simple
ad at the local newspaper and hundreds of people would dial up to
your system.. those times are gone.

What I am trying to do is to bring the BBS to some of these
retrocomputing events that happen at my city every now and then.
With the COVID restrictions lifted, probably we will have one in the
upcoming months and I plan to participate bringing a system on an
old laptop, so people can really see it.

    Let's see how it goes.

... The only place I want data loss is on my credit card!

I think the Echo is related to an old project.

Still, future is good for everybody :)
