Looks like Telegram is best suited to mobile use,
    which complements existing FTN well.

I use the portable Windows DT version on a USB stick and access TgM from a couple of different laptops at two different locations. So, even without a phone handy, the portable version can be used from any available PC - as long as
    it has Win7 minimum.

Would be interesting to hear from anyone inclined to use the linux/mac/macOS/iPad DT versions.

That's one way to do it, though I dont tend to access random PCs as much as I used to, so that's not likely to be my favoured option for a while. The Android version is working well for me, as well as on the PC (installed).

I could try the Linux version at some time. :)

Good to hear that. The TgM UI is very well designed with

Yes, it's not perfect, but certainly falls into the category of
    "good enough". :)

It does seem that way. On the Telegram side. I have noticed for example, that first thing in the day it is a bit more complicated going through unread messages for me, but that could possibly just be me not being used to Telegram itself.
