  • Some numbers

    It's been a while, so I did the numbers again ...

    Zone 1 310 individual sysops
    Zone 2 563
    Zone 3 21
    Zone 4 18

    These numbers are derived by dropping all comment lines, all /0-entries. all silly 99 999 999 numbers and eliminating duplicate sysop names.

    Even then there will be sone errors. For example in Z2 some /0-sysops are only listed with that /0-number so Z2 should be a tad higher.

    But it gives you a good idea what remains of the once 38,000.

    I am surprised. I would have thought that Z2 would have had numbers two
    or three times Z1, and maybe even that the Russian region (R50?) would
    itself out number both Z1 and the rest of 2.

    Especially R50 (Russia) has been pro-active in weeding-out the dead wood. Which accounts for the effect.

    In Z1 dead nodes often just stay in the nodelist ...

    Numbers tell a story, but not everything.

    My story is, we're just a handful ... let's not argue but enjoy the moment.
