    Hi! All,

We've been notified that power to our residence will be interrupted for most of Saturday afternoon, next. The company notice advises a four hour block but I'm gonna shut my main node for six hours, between 1200hrs through to 1800hrs inclusive.

This means that 3:640/1384 (aka 3:54/0) will not be available during those times.

The downtime will give me an opportunity to do a final backup, and when the power supply stabilizes, then make an opsys upgrade to a 64bit install. Send doughnuts...

    Cheers,
    Paul.

... I may not be perfect but some parts of me are excellent.

Thank you. Things did -not- proceed according to plan. That last stage is yet to be attempted. I may take my time and have a bit of a play with it. Fidonet won't be affected.

I successfully excised the Fidonet operation from my old PC and transplanted it into vBox VM on my other PC. There was an opsys error that needed human response during the 305Mb+ security & patch update process in the VM, and of course I wasn't watching. The only outstanding steps for it remain LAN sharing & SSH server to be enabled for Fido, again.

    Thanks for your note.

    Cheers,
    Paul.
