    I didn't see that the laptop was set to CP850 and showed a character
    equal a hyphen. Otherwise I would have seen the inadequacy. Fixed.

    Aha! Anyway, you have demonstrated that assuming CP437 is the default when there is no CHRS kludge, is not a good idea. ;-)
