• Old Dos Doorgames

From N1uro@1:142/103 to All on Mon May 3 23:38:12 2021
I'm curious... back in the day I had probably 30 or so DOS doorgames registered and I can't for the life of me find the keys. (moving lots tends to do that!) I'm just curious if any of the older authors are still active in generating registrations for the old dos doorgames anymore and if so where may I find
a listing of how to contact some of them?

    Thanks in advance.

Many DOS door games can be found here:

    http://bbsfiles.com/main.html

And most games are either offered with free keys or can be registered
    there directly.

Thanks! I'll see what that can do for me. Much appreciated. I hate having to repay for registrations from 30 years ago but oh well :)

Gee I thought I had something unusual with my WINDOWS XP system here.
And you are still running DOS!

Actually, I'm running DOSEmu under Devuan linux. On my packet node I'm
running Zork and Eliza - yes via RF!.. on a Z80Emu. All the services are together on one box... including this. Fun stuff.

(I always said they should have never gone past DOS 3.11.)

DOS 5 wasn't bad, 6 had some nice utils but nothing spectactular that
Norton didn't offer as add-ons. I just keep thinking of the massive batch
files I wrote for doors back then to make single doors "multitask". I was
up to 6 incoming lines on MajorBBS... and was part of the MajorFIDO team.

I was the King of Solar Realms Elite back in he day.

For me, drag racing was one... a few others too.

Yea, John does a lot with the the Club. Check into the 10 Meter Net
tonight on 28.375 at 8 AM. I should be able to hear you I think. If
I can't someone will let me know. I seem to have inherated NC now that
VDF is in Regency House. No news on when he will be able or IF he will
be able to go back home.

Yes he does! He's quite an active guy especially for his age! When he told
    me I was floored.

Unfortunately HF antennas are not allowed on property. It took me almost 10 years to convince them to let me put up VHF/UHF ones. I still have the old
MARC packet stuff I purchased from you. The IC-38A's receiver died. Sent it
to ICOM - they didn't want to know a thing and sent it back. I'll never buy ICOM again. Any company that doesn't stand by it's own product is not a company I'll support.

I do think I may be your feed soon. We're in the process of handing off my
old NC hat back to me. I hope in 30 years there's not too much dust on it!
