• Tools or libraries to read JAM message area

From Vincent Coen@2:250/1 to All on Fri Apr 10 16:37:16 2020
    Hello All!

I use mbse as a bbs and run the elist maintainance program.

That program at the moment can only handles submission files in the form of ECHOtag.ECO and ECHOtag.RUL.

I would like it to also read from the JAM message base by reference to a specific area number or name, netmail messages and hopefully where the last read pointer is updated each unread message (if any) present and pass them as text file which can be a MBOX type which has one or all new messages or a text file that contains on the first two lines:
who the message is from with that line starting with FROM
The subject but starting with SUBJect
followed by the text of the message.

The program or library must be supplied in source and be callable or run from the elist program or via a script when required.

I would also like some thing similar to read and write email messages that receive or take a text file with a FROM and SUBJ information to pass out or in along with the body of the message.

Can any one help for this?

mbse runs under Linux so I can use any source using any language that has a callable C interface or as an executable via elist or a (bash) script.

Many thanks for any help in advance,

    Vincent
