    Hello Ruslan,

Today in my hpt.log i look these errors:

    ---------- Mon 27 Jul 20, hpt/fbsd 1.9.0-cur 2019-12-05
    1 22:44:54 Start
3 22:44:54 Using importlogfile -> linking only listed Areas
    3 22:44:54 Linking area ALT.USAGE.ENGLISH
B 22:44:54 msg 783: replies count for msg 320 exceeds 9, rest of the replies won't be linked

This is the way the squish message base was designed. At the time Squish was implemented it was thought to be enough. Maybe it is or isn't, I'm not sure. The squish message base would need to be updated to get more than 9 replies linked.

    also these errors:

    3 22:44:55 Linking area FDN_ANNOUNCE
B 22:44:55 msg 354 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 647 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 867 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1342 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1343 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1344 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1345 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1346 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1347 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1348 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
B 22:44:55 msg 1349 hasn't got any MSGID, replying is not possible
    3 22:44:55 Linking area ALT.RUSSIAN.Z1

    How to fix it ?

HPT only uses msgid to link messages? That is the best method of reply linking although you can use the subject also. Likely no linking is going to be needed in FDN_ANNOUNCE anyway.. but...

    Ttyl :-),

What is the ALT.* echoarea structure? Is that the similar internet usegroup which is found by search engines with 72000 threads and
    2.000.000 posts?

If yes, then use the correct tools.

A newsgroup is designed according to RFC specifications and based on
rfc tools. Fidonet is designed with the Fidonet Technology Standard
and based on FTS tools like the husky suite. The FTS is a dinosaur
that was created when the transferspeed was between 300 bit/s and
56kb/s and they had 8 bit computers like the C64 with 64kb RAM. Today
we have 64bit computers at home and the first 1000 Mb/s connections
are available and affordable for home users.

Speaking in pictures: You are trying to transport 1000 tons with a
Lada Riva at once. That does not work and it's not the fault of the
    Riva.

If you would like to have clear log files this may help:

    #!/bin/sh
sed -e /" has no control information: thrown from reply chain"/D
    hpt.log > 10 sed -e /" replying is not possible"/D 10 > 20 sed -e /" replies count for msg"/D 20 > 30 mv 30 hpt.log.`date +%y%m%d.%M` rm 10
    rm 20

I try this script and only on 6% reduced my log.. :( I thinks i have more then 72000 threads but not more then 2000000 posts, i sure!
I try change databases of ECHOS from SQUID to JAM.
    Thanks.

    How to fix it ?
    Use JAM instead squish. ;)

    or opus ( * msgs base * )

Opus does not support reply tree. It's better to use for netmail.

    Have nice nights.

msg size is bigger possible, since its one file pr msg, and i dont think loosing reply tree is that a big deal ?

    ;)

why support so many msg storages when only one is needed ?

for email default size is just 10MB over that postfix reject it, remember when some windows programs maked multiple emails that needed to be collected and assembled in order to get the uuencoded binaries back ?

time have learned this was in the long run more usable for usenet
