I wanted to announce it via FidoNews, but I must have done something
wrong with my Netmail message to the current Editor. I'll do it again
(and better) this week to make it official. ;-)
Also announced in that issue is the SHARING echo. I never heard of it, and can't find any traces of it in any of the %LIST's of any of my links. ;-)

I think the current editor suffers from a fiber-optic cut link ... From what I
understand he manages to make outbound calls via a kind of back-up but cannot be reached direct.

We already missed the 40th birthday of Fidonews itself.

In short, I'm amazed that so many of the previous editors lasted as long as nine months. Half of them even more -- that's the meaning of average -- but the other half less.

But most likely it may have escaped people in the USA how the whole
world turned against the country for that one particular game because
of the intervention by the White House and the already known
corruption, in whatever sense, of FIFA and its chair Infantino.

You might have a point about the automation, but never underestimate
the value of consistency.
As the FidoNews editor, his role isn't to be a content creator or to liven up the echoareas... it's simply to ensure that what arrives gets published.
We need to set the right expectations: keeping the lights on and
staying reliable for 25 years is a merit in itself, even if it's not about putting on a show.
I don't understand that either.
