Charlie Daniels, dead at 83. May he RIP.

Sorry, but that seems a wee bit too US specific to be of any interest to the 96% of the non USAians in the world.

Considering how many of your 4% that take part of the discussions here, maybe you should try to make your postings a little bit more interesting to a global readership, no?

    Hello Ward,

Charlie Daniels and his hit "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" is a classic.

An expert at good music such as yourself, knows that.

Written in 1979. Daniels had very few big hits. None of them recent. Politically, he liked Carter and called him a straight shooter. From
there his views moved further and further to the right, to the point
of being extremist. He was very active on Twitter, and had a section
on his web site called the "soap box" where he posted his rants. He
hated Obama with a passion, and absolutely adored Trump.

"Lord, give us the courage to speak our mind, to be honest, and
bold about our feelings, no matter who, or how many we go against."
~ Charlie Daniels, last tweet hours before his death

Most definitely. Well known outside the USA.

Hands up. Not my kind of music.

I didn't either, but then there's Youtube, so now I know.

Did the devil care about his fiddle?

As with the god, the devil is a figment of the imagination. If one imagines s/he cared about a fiddle then s/he did.
