Probably you still don't understand that language != people, as well as nation != government. In other words, the fact that I am speaking Russian language doesn't make me a killer and the fact that I was born in Russia doesn't make me an invader.

It's kind of stupid to hate people just because of their nationality or language they speak.

Until world leaders realize something as simple as that, there will never be peace anywhere.

Yeah, but we (Russia and Ukraine) came from the same cultural background so this is how wea re (ordinary people) are reacting to the war.
I am myself is happy to be in good relations with people from any country, but this is me. I lived in Russia, UK, Middle East and have no problems with languages, religions, ages, genders and network protocols.

But is it possible? Yes :)

Germans also believe so? Many of them suffered because of that, as far

We've sent many Germans in USSR during 1941 to Siberia, where many of them died. They believed in communism, BTW :)

Yes. Imagine that someone killed your mother.

primitive way, but I cannot understand why world leaders do - they are

Because they are humans? Or you mean Putin? He is just a cheap clone of Hitler ;)

Ukraine would loose DPR and LPR but save countless lives of Ukrainians (isn't that what matters the most?) and also win support of a lot of

No. Putin wanted to stop Ukraine from from joining the EU.

Russian government for the invasion. But instead world leaders waged a
war against all Russian nationals. Did any good come from this? No.

Russian nationalists? Most of the Russian nationalists were jailed or killed in Russia during last 10 years.

Most Russians now hate EU and US, and even those who initially didn't

That's a lie. "Most Russians" is just a propaganda. Very cheap, BTW ;)

support Putin now do. Good job.

Yes, the plan is to tell the truth.

people will be greatful to you for that. But if you are just

And what if I am not pretending? BTW, this is Fidonet, a place for free speech.

We've sent many Germans in USSR during 1941 to Siberia, where

That's what I am talking about. And not only that. Germans were hated
all around the world just because they were Germans. And my question

Not because they were Germans, but because they supported Nazi ideology. Somehow Hitler was able to show that majority of Germans were his supporters. Do you support Putin, BTW?

I don't need to imagine, a have seen death. And I never hated whole
nation or profession because of that. Only people who are directly

I don.t think all Ukrainians hate all Russians., I talk to Ukranians every day and they don't see me as their enemy. But a lot of Russians are now literally like our former nazi enemies - brainwashed haters.

responsible are to be blamed. And if I was Ukrainian, I would blame Zelenskiy, who preferred to use his people as cannon fodder when it

He is head of the nation which is brave enough to fight foreign invaders, that's all.

was possible to agree to peace and then solve territory disputes politically.

Peace agreement with Putin? :) He will take what remains from Ukraine later; that guy is a crazy dictator and cannot be trusted.

BTW, It's the Putin who is sending Russians to kill Russians in Ukraine. Zelenskiy never invaded Russia.

    Because they are humans?

That's not an explanation. Like I said, they are supposed to be smart.
And smart people are not driven by emotions.

No, people without emotions - are sick with alexithymia.

Everyone already knows that you don't like him, so why keep giving

No acts very stupid, because he brough our coutry into this mess.

Yes, I see consequences of his stupid decisions every day.

No. Putin wanted to stop Ukraine from from joining the EU.

Putin doesn't care about Ukraine being part of EU. Putin wanted to

Yes, he cared. He tried to prevent it together with Yanukovich, the whole story started because of that.

This particular war could end with a peace agreement in which Ukraine would loose DPR and LPR. Ukraine could accept peace offer and see what

Do you think that Putin will stop with DPR and LPR? Why do think so? He wants more.
    HHe wants Kiev.

ak>> 40% people in Ukraine speak Russian in their homes.
WD> And 100% of those allegedly Russian-speaking Ukrainians oppose
WD> the Russian agression... Your point ?

Mine main point is -- don't trust Zelensky's propaganda. If you trust
his words, the Russian army must has already been destroyed and Crimea
and Donbass returned back to Ukraine. I advice you to admit that the
Ukrainian situation in 2014 was more indicative. Now it is just
impossible to get a real picture about people's minds -- to speak
pro-Russian views is very dangerous in Ukraine, as it was dangerous to
speak against Communism in the USSR in 193s during the years of
    repressions.
So trust the situation before 2014 -- Ukraine has been always divided
into proRussian part and antiRussian part. The main tool of the
antiRussian part is hatred, violence, crazy and insane antiRussian
propaganda, idiotic attempts to convert all Russians in Ukrainians by
    force and compulsion.

Putin in Russia is not a nice guy, there is no doubt about it, and his
image has made a great negative impact on how people in the West see the situation in Russia on the whole. But I repeat once more -- a tyrant is
better than a pack of idiots, and that pack has had all means to stop
    violence in Ukraine since 2014.
I repeat the main mental condition of this pack during all the years of violence in Donbass -- the pack constantly had a dilemma (up to a
diarrhoea) - should it negotiate with the rebels or it hoped that
sometimes it would have enough force to cut Donbass rebels' throats. If
they had not been idiots they would have understood that Russia would
never allow them to do those dirty plans, and the Minsk agreements had
    to be implemented.

What one of the agreement would that be? There were several of them. If you are referring to the Minsk Protocol, maybe you have not understood what it said? Tell me if there is even *one* of the twelve points, that Putin's Ruzzia has *not* violated?

The text of the protocol consists of twelve points:

    1. To ensure an immediate bilateral ceasefire.

    2. To ensure the monitoring and verification of the ceasefire by the OSCE.

    3. Decentralisation of power, including through the adoption of the Ukrainian law "On temporary Order of Local Self-Governance in Particular Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts".

    4. To ensure the permanent monitoring of the Ukrainian-Russian border and verification by the OSCE with the creation of security zones in the border regions of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

    5. Immediate release of all hostages and illegally detained persons.

    6. A law preventing the prosecution and punishment of people in connection with the events that have taken place in some areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.

    7. To continue the inclusive national dialogue.

    8. To take measures to improve the humanitarian situation in Donbas.

    9. To ensure early local elections in accordance with the Ukrainian law "On temporary Order of Local Self-Governance in Particular Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts".

    10. To withdraw illegal armed groups and military equipment as well as fighters and mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine.

    11. To adopt a programme of economic recovery and reconstruction for the Donbas region.

    12. To provide personal security for participants in the consultations.

;-) Tell me at least one reason why Russia or the rebels should violate ceasefire in Donbass? If Ukraine had taken away its troops and heavy
artillery from Donbass there would be not aims for the rebels.

    -----Beginning of the citation----- https://pakhotin.org/economy/minsk-agreements/
    Google translation from Russian.

The number of victims exceeded 10 thousand people
The Minsk agreements, signed by Putin, Poroshenko, Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky, provided for the withdrawal of heavy weapons, a ceasefire,
and the exchange of prisoners. The document set a specific deadline for
most items: it was planned to fully implement the agreements by the end
of 2015. However, after 4 years, not a single point of the Minsk
    agreements has been fully implemented.
    ...
Since then, 17 attempts have been made to establish a regime of silence
in the conflict zone. However, even the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission,
led by Alexander Hug, announced sad statistics: in 2016, 320 thousand
cases of violation of the silence regime were recorded, and in 2017 -
    almost 400 thousand.
----- The end of the citation -----

BF> 2. To ensure the monitoring and verification of the ceasefire by
    BF> the OSCE.

There were many OSCE observes before 2022, but they were always very
blind as well as polite towards Ukraine. Do you know that it is VERY
VERY easy to define who has made an artillery shot when you observing.
You have several microphones and a trivial software quickly define the location of an artillery shot sound. The observers had some conscience
and they never blame the rebels for ceasefire violation, but they never
told that it was Ukrainian troops and ultra-nationalist brigades who did
it. That is the way the OSCE observes did their shameful job.

BF> 3. Decentralisation of power, including through the adoption of the
BF> Ukrainian law "On temporary Order of Local Self-Governance in
BF> Particular Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts".

It was funny that you blame Putin for not implementing this clause. ;-)

BF> 4. To ensure the permanent monitoring of the Ukrainian-Russian
BF> border and verification by the OSCE with the creation of security
BF> zones in the border regions of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

As I have said OSCE people were was good for nothings as impartial
    observers.

BF> 5. Immediate release of all hostages and illegally detained
    BF> persons.

There has been no hostages in that war. There are prisoners.

BF> 6. A law preventing the prosecution and punishment of people in
BF> connection with the events that have taken place in some areas of
    BF> Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.

It is only pertain to Ukraine -- this clause had not been not
implemented by the Ukrainian side. Ukraine constantly threatens to
    persecute the rebels.

BF> 7. To continue the inclusive national dialogue.

Crazy persecution of the Russian language and those who wanted good
relations with Russia. Almost 3 million Ukrainian refuges has been still living in Russia (they fled here before 2022).

BF> 8. To take measures to improve the humanitarian situation in
    BF> Donbas.

Donbass, Donetsk every day under shelling with most sophisticated
western rockets and shell. Not they shell it with American cluster
    ammunition.

BF> 9. To ensure early local elections in accordance with the Ukrainian
BF> law "On temporary Order of Local Self-Governance in Particular
BF> Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts".

As I said Ukraine had never wanted to implement the clause about "Self-Governance in Particular Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk
Oblasts"." As openly and shamelessly said Merkel and Macron -- the Minsk agreements were only a mean to give Ukraine time to gather its military strength.

BF> 10. To withdraw illegal armed groups and military equipment as well
BF> as fighters and mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine.

This clause is the last one and cannot be done without implementing
    other clauses.

BF> 11. To adopt a programme of economic recovery and reconstruction
    BF> for the Donbas region.

You can note that after stopping fighting Mariupol has been quickly rebuilding.

BF> 12. To provide personal security for participants in the
    BF> consultations.

We see terrorist killings of people on the Russian territory, mainly journalists and those who had active proRussian position on the issue.

;-) Tell me at least one reason why Russia or the rebels should violate ceasefire in Donbass? If Ukraine had taken away its troops and heavy artillery from Donbass there would be not aims for the rebels.

Hopefully you understand how silly your reasoning is ... It is Ukrainian territory, as a consequence Ukraine puts whatever forces it desires where-ever in its own territory.

By your use of the word "rebels" you provide the justification a regime needs to enact its rights on self-defence, protecting its bords, restore peace and order.

Our Russian Fidonet segment really resembles a small-scale model of our real-life society: we have people who are demanding Global Thermonuclear War (hello, "WarGames" movie), some who are very much against the war, and others (who are actually very active) just reposting propaganda filled with obvious lies every day for many months.
It looks like they believe that if you repeat a lie many times, it becomes the truth!

The main reason why many Russian civilians in Ukraine refused to
evacuate into the deep of Ukraine during the Russian troops assault is
simple -- they waited for them. Unfortunately they were shamelessly used
as a live shield by Ukrainian troops. Thousands died indeed, but
majority died from the fire of Ukrainian troops.

Compare the Russian war approach in a major city of Kerson in Ukraine.
Can they make this Russian city a fortress, as Ukrainians made from
Mariupol? It was so convenient to set up machine guns in the numerous
city buildings! They could, but they simply left it intact.

    Alexander,

The main reason why many Russian civilians in Ukraine refused to
evacuate into the deep of Ukraine during the Russian troops assault is simple -- they waited for them. Unfortunately they were shamelessly used
as a live shield by Ukrainian troops. Thousands died indeed, but
majority died from the fire of Ukrainian troops.

Bollocks, also the remainder of that message.

Nazism is a form of socialism where the party ascends in importance by regular elections and once they are in absolute power, laws are enacted that elections are not necessary anymore because the party acts in the benefit of all the people ... so why would you want to elect someone else ... you already have the best of everything. Aka Putin-ism.

Haven't you heard what HATO chief Stoltenberg says many times on the Ukraine issue? He says that NATO would provide Ukraine with weapon in unlimited quantity.

So? NATO has no foot on the ground, Russia has.

I assure you Zelensky in Ukraine also will cancel elections as he has cancelled democracy there.

I assure you that when this unfortunate episode comes to an end, there will be again elections in Ukraine and chances are that Zelensky will be voted out of office eventually ... The same that happened to Winston Churchill in 1945 who was voted out of office nearly immediately after WW2 ended.

    Hello Björn,

Is there any proof that "alexander koryagin" is even real? WD>Perhaps he
    is just a V0.01 AI-bot beta-release Kremlin-style? 8-)

It seems like they (the Saint Petersburg troll factory, Тролли из Ольгино)
deactivated "him" for some time, but now "he" is active again.

While that might seem to be a reasonable assumption, not all is
as it seems. For example, during last night's debate among Republican candidates for president, one of the contestants could have been
mistaken for Alexander had he been speaking Russian. Here is a quote
of what he said, concerning Ukraine and its elected president -

"Level with the American people here, Ukraine is not a paragon of
democracy. This is a ccoutry that has banned 11 opposition parties.
It has consolidated all media into one state, TV media arm -- that
is not democratic. It has threatened not to hold elections this
year unless the US forks over more money -- that is noto democratic."
~ Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican Debate, 11/8/2023

I do not know where Ramaswamy was trained at. Or if he has ever
been to St. Petersburg. I am sure it is a beautiful city, with lots
to see and do. But as you know, trolls are special. And need special
training in order to accomplish their tasks. Which is why TikTok was
invented, available everywhere, including in Ohio.

Here is more of what Ramaswamy said last night -

"It has celebrated a Nazi in its ranks. A comedian in cargo pants.
The man called Zelenskyy. Doing it in their own ranks -- that is not democratic." ~Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican Debate, 11/8/2023

See there? A Jewish Nazi. A real live Nazi in Ukraine. Ramaswamy
also said he was "absolutely unpersuaded" by Zelenskyy's call for
    aid.

    What a guy.
    Taking lessons from Alexander.
    Or maybe from Putin himself.

Nah. We all know the truth.
    It is all your fault.
Nobody else but you are to blame for this.

As editor of the Fidonews, you have made it possible for both
friend and foe to have his say, and also for all to believe whatever
words of wisdom they wish, whether true or not.

    You cannot deny it.

You are the one who allowed Alexander to have his say.
You are the one who allowed Vivek to read his words of wisdom.
You are the one who caussed Vivek to spread his nonsense to
infect his own political party, which is already infected by
the words of an orange clown.

Time for you to be a man and own up to it.
Your Swedish honor depends on it.

    Hello Ward,

Nazi -- is people of a nation who do violent acts of assimilation or
elimination, deprivation of civil rights of other nation(s).

Bollocks, also the remainder of that message.

Nazi is reference to an individual, not an ideology. For example,
Vivek Ramsaswamy correctly identified the term by describing a certain
person of interest as being a Nazi -

"It [Ukraine) has celebrated a Nazi in its ranks. A comedian in cargo
pants. The man called Zelenskyy. Doing it in their own ranks -- that
    is not democratic."

Ramaswamy's point is clear - what Germany had before and during WWII
was a cult of personality. And that is what Ukraine has now.

Benito Mussolini coined the word fascism. And what Italy had before
and during WWII was a real ideology, known as fascism. Had you known
the real history of that time, you would have realized that Mussolini
had been voted out of office and put in jail. But like most others,
you wanted to believe in fairy tales.

It is time for you to fess up. You know it. Alexander knows it.
And everybody else in this echo knows it. Including the editor.

Nazism (national socialism) is not a form of socialism, but rather
a cult of personality. And we all know who that personality was.

For the uninitiated, or those who have not kept up, presidential
candidate Vivek Ramsswamy has filled it all in for us during a
Republican candidates debate on Wednesday night, when he told the
audience these words of wisdom -

"Level with the American people here, Ukraine is not a paragon of
democracy. This is a ccoutry that has banned 11 opposition parties.
It has consolidated all media into one state, TV media arm -- that
is not democratic. It has threatened not to hold elections this
year unless the US forks over more money -- that is not democratic."
~ Vivek Ramaswamy, Republican Debate, 11/8/2023

Ramaswamy also said he is "absolutely unpersuaded" by Zelenskyy's
    call for more aid.

Haven't you heard what HATO chief Stoltenberg says many times ak>on the
Ukraine issue? He says that NATO would provide Ukraine with weapon ain
    unlimited quantity.

So? NATO has no foot on the ground, Russia has.

Many members of NATO have contributed aid to Ukraine. That does
not mean NATO is sending foot soldiers to fight in Ukraine.

I assure you Zelensky in Ukraine also will cancel elections as ak>he has
    cancelled democracy there.

I assure you that when this unfortunate episode comes to an end, there will
be again elections in Ukraine and chances are that Zelensky will be voted out of office eventually ...

That might be your wish. But hardly reflects reality. While the USA
continued to have elections during WWII, how many other countries did?
Go ahead. Review your history books. Then get back to me.

The same that happened to Winston Churchill in 1945 who was voted out of office nearly immediately after WW2 ended.

With no elections to worry about he had nothing to worry about.
Until after the war, in which his drinking (and big mouth) caused
    him the next election.

    That's called 'democracy'.

FDR won four straight elections for POTUS, including twice during
WWII. So why is Zelenskyy so scared of holding elections in Ukraine?

Putin however will remain in office until he dies, that is Nazism.

Russia has a constitution. A constitution that allows Putin to be
elected president until 2036. That is democracy.

Of course, the rest of the world knows it is really Putin's body
double who is playing the part. But nobody really minds.

Same with Belarus, North-Korea, even the People's Republic of China nowadays.

Belarus is not sending any foot soldiers into Ukraine.
Neither is Rocket Man or his sister sending any foot soldiers
into Ukraine, being more interested in developing launch pads
in rice paddies for their nuclear program. And President Xi
is too busy feeding pandas to worry about sending foot soldiers
    anywhere ...

Nazism is the common name for "National Socialism", it is a
    far-right totalitarian political ideology.

The notion "Nazism" has been distorted, ...

"Nazism" has been defined by the NSDAP ... simple.

The regime in Kiev does not fit the description.

    The regime in Moscow does.

    Hello Ward,

Nazism is a form of socialism where the party ascends in importance

First of all Nazism must be derived from the word "nation". And it is
not important at all do they like Communism or Socialism of hate them.

Nazism is the common name for "National Socialism", it is a far-right totalitarian political ideology.

Far from it. It is a personality cult, plain and simple.
Hitler himself coined the phrase "national socialism" as a means
to confuse people what Hitlerism was all about, as we all know
who he went after as enemies.

I swear to God this holy oath
that I shall render unconditional obedience
to the Leader of the German Reich and people,
Adolf Hitler, supreme commander of the armed forces,
and that as a brave soldier I shall at all times be prepared
to give my life for this oath.

    — Wehrmacht Oath of Loyalty to Adolf Hitler

I swear: I will be faithful and obedient
to the leader of the German Reich and people, Adolf Hitler,
to observe the law, and to conscientiously fulfill my official duties,
    so help me God!

I translated it too to see what it looks like in another language. But you wanted a URL. But I do get that you need an online translator to read foreign language texts ... If you can't directly read the language, there's so much that gets lost.

During our live broadcasts however our own national, pretty respected, journalists have been actually denied to go to the conflict arena and report live from the Russian side ... French TV ... Dutch TV ... Belgian TV ...

I'm pretty certain Russia has also access to all the media reports from the Ukrainian side ... but probably the Russian people don't ... they have no clue what it is to have a free press, to publically call your head of government an asshole and not get arrested, we can call it a war while using the word in your country may land you in jail ...

You are the subject of probably the most grossly inflated destruction of free press, free news and are the victim of intimidation and propaganda to such extents the world has never seen. Even Goebbels would look up in awe seeing what is possible now in Russia ....

When North-Korea and Iran become your political allies, even you must realize there is seriously something wrong. You may be stupid, but you definitely are not dumb.

I read your naive explanation, but doesn't cost a cent. The proof that
the video is not a simulation is easy -- the camera on the ISS was fixed
and the astronaut, who took the video, constantly and irregularly
corrected the camera direction when the spaceship left camera field of

I read your naive explanation, but doesn't cost a cent. The proof that

The other day an astronaut on board the ISS mishandled a very
expensive piece of equipment (valued at over $100K) and it tumbled
out of the exit into space. Video was shown of this event, so there
was no question the item will soon burn up and be lost forever.

However, all is not as it seems when it comes to NASA. For example,
the tall tale about men walking on the Moon and returning to Earth ...
