• Climate Change Solution

    Hello Everybody,

One of our Congresscritters (from Texas) has a nifty
solution for climate change. Change the moon's orbit.
And he is dead serious -

Congressman: Can we alter the moon’s orbit for climate change?

In a recent webcam Congressional hearing, Texas Rep Louie Gohmert
asked an associate deputy chief of the Forest Service if her agency
could alter the moon’s orbit to address climate change.

    Gohmert said:

“I was informed by the immediate past director of NASA that they’ve
found that the moon’s orbit is changing slightly and so is the Earth’s orbit around the sun… [I]s there anything that the National Forest
Service or [Bureau of Land Management] can do to change the course of
the moon’s orbit or the Earth’s orbit around the sun?”

She smiled and politely said, “I would have to follow up with you on
    that one Mr. Gohmert.”

She was holding back laughter, but Gohmert was dead serious. He
responded, “Well, if you figure out a way that you in the Forest
Service could make that change, I’d like to know.”

    Get a nodenumber ...

Why? What's wrong with JamNNTPd? They are easily accessible -- as in a few clicks away -- all around the world with nothing but a standard computer installation. What extra "service" do you get with a nodenumber?

The times when you needed a nodenumber to connect your BBS to the global network for Bulletin Board Systems (as per the very first, actual sentence in P4) are looong gone...

Then how does one connect one's BBS to the FIDONET without a nodenumber?

    With a point?

Which effectively has a node/point number.
