We dropped this echo in 2018.

    we did? we who? why?

but this is also the echolist... it doesn't care if areas are carried on the backbone... backbones, on the other hand, may require that areas are listed in the echolist...

why are you removing my echo? it doesn't matter if it is on the backbone or not... remember, the backbones and the echolist are separate things...

I actually misspoke, as I realized (too) late. I stopped moderating
ARTWARE after asking others to take it on and getting no takers. Same
with a couple of other echoes whose names I've now forgotten!! Sorry
about that -- why don't you take it on?

    Cheers... Dallas

    Yours ?

According to the May 2019 edition of ELIST.RPT the mod is/was Dallas Hinton at 1:153/715.
Mind you he also seems to be the Co-Mod as well.

If you want to take it on and there is traffic go ahead assuming Dallas does not mind and judging
by his message I would 'assume' not.

I think Gerard turned it over to me many years ago (I don't remember ANY
of the details now!) and I just changed the name and carried on.

For a long time there was no traffic at all, and that was when I figured
it was dead and tried to get someone else to take it.

Given that's no longer true, I'm all in favour of keeping it listed.

Absolutely correct - I've no interest in being a "collector" :-)

    Yours ?

i guess, technically speaking, it isn't quite mine, yet... i have a netmail here from dallas with the password, rules, and description info... the netmail is dated 2018 Mar 5... i hadn't had a chance to add it to my updates before we found out about ben's passing... then since the list was down, i've not thought about doing anything to reinstate my automation for the updates until now since it appears that things are becoming workable...

i never had an interest in being a collector, either... yet, here i am with some 30 or so echotags that i maintain in the list... hell, i gave away a double handful not long before ben left us...

In that case check that the content of the file follows the latest requirements
such as the mandatory keywords :

FROM [ Your contact addresses ]
SUBJ MOD-UPD as it still exists ass only marked for deletion.
    TAG
    GROUP FIDO
    LANG ENGLISH

    any rules inside
    RULETEXT

Name the file tagname.ECO and drop it off to 2:25/21 or 2:250/1 (same place).

Please do so as MOD-UPD submissions and ditto for any other echo areas that you
cover and please, please get a co-mod for them as well as a JIC (Just in case) scenario.

Same applies to all of you and me, coming to think about it.

Name the file tagname.ECO and drop it off to 2:25/21 or 2:250/1 (same
    place).

i don't do rules files in the elist any more but the rest of the basic template looks to be the same as what i'm already using... i still need to work on using automation with my new setup to post my updates... hopefully it will be as easy as my previous setup when i used my own postit tool...
