True enough. But that will mess up my DIFF processing. I'll
wait one more week. Or.. I can do as you say, temporarily, and
then simply revert to the previous version when the updates

Ward has informed me that my script to generate region segments is some times just send a stream of text and not line terminated but here it look good so going to have to work out how to use unix2dos outbound/region25.?????

Where ???? is todays day number of the year - seam to recall there is a way.

Hopefully this is fixed now at least for the Z2DAILY files etc.
For the NODELIST.* have to wait till Friday and hopefully found the solution.

It is most odd, where sometimes it does not work for Ward (he runs under Windows / dos as he uses DBridge for the mailer.

Cracked it - command is :

    unix2dos outbound/region25.`date +%j`

Just cannot run it after the day as it will use the actual day at time of running.

All FILE submissions must be only sent to 2:25/21 and that system uses port 24555 as per the nodelist entry which is now fixed in the Z2DAILY files.

Sending them any where else or in a differing form will get ignored, if they ever arrive. I.e., No NETMAIL nor EMAILS only files sent direct to 2:25/21.

Now if some one knows what and how to set up any software running under Linux that can read in from a given email address where the code can be chaned to take in the body of each msg and write out one file per message containing it, just let me know (I can create the files myself but need code to read the emails. Like wise to read in Netmails using a JAM meesage base (ignoring old ons).

IF I can get those processes then I can build support into the elist program.

Every 30 minutes past the hour it searches for the files and then processes them. Creates the response posts for both ELIST and netmails, sends them to its
uplink (250/1) who processes them immediately to all down and up links when then polls depending on schedules set up in various script in every one or three hourly periods.

For some nodes they go out immediately or close to it - depending on traffic.

My connection with Virgin Media is using a 276Mb down and 27Mb up links but this will change as of 1st April as the discounted rate dies and I will have to
have a new contract at the lowest speed as close to 35 GB pounds per month as possible - I am retired with limited income (pension).

The speed is more likely to revert to around 100 - 120 Mb down and 10 Up.

They are all increasing rates by over 10% this year.
