• Sending submission files - a reminder

From Vincent Coen@2:250/1 to All on Mon Jan 9 23:39:32 2023
    Hello All!

There are some moderators trying to send submission files to me at 2:250/1 instead of 2:25/21.

They will only end up in the bit bucket if you do.

Likewise just polling 2:25/21 is a complete waste of time as that system will only talk to ONE system and thats 250/1 to transfer echo msgs or get Z2DAILY files and to send ECHOLIST files.

The system at 2:25/21 is happy to receive these submission files DIRECTLY to it
without having a session set up. It checks the FROM address for validity for the specific echo for all recorded (co) mods etc.

The best way of remembering to send these submission files is if you are using a *nix OS, use crontab and if needed a small script or if using Windows use its
own scheduler to run jobs and no I do not know how to but I am sure you can Google it depending on the version you run.

How can it receive anything directly without a session? You're not making sense...

    Bye, Wilfred.

Really, the 25/21 system will like most bbs systems accept file/s sent directly
without have a session set up for a specific node to send such a file.

    Hardly new.

Ok, you mean without a _password protected_ session. Never mind. ;-)

Correct, it does check that the sending system is that if the MOD and FROM entries.

In any event the submission file MUST have a matching password for the specific
    echo to be accepted.
