Hello All!
As of a few months back the system has changed so that the life time of a echo update went from 6 months followed by up to 4 months of warning messages about its expiry followed by one month for the Deletion warning followed by a further
month before the echo was deleted and this totalled a maximum life of 13 months
before it was actually deleted.
So any submitted updated up to and including month 13 was valid.
The new time line is now :
10 months life followed by ONE month warning followed by ONE month deletion warning with a further month before it is actually deleted - again 13 months before it is actually deleted.
Once an echo has warning messages sent from month 10 then a copy is also sent to all moderators on record for the echo. Just in case the moderator on record has left Fido for any reason.
Also now it actually does NOT get deleted but is transferred over to the Backbone system and is no longer listed on the ELIST.NA and .RPT files.
At that point ownership moves from the original moderator to elistmaint and no longer is effected by lifetime limits - It remains unless deleted.
If one of the Backbone echo's is not longer in use say because of zero traffic for 12 months or more, it can be deleted in the normal way or by sending a message to myself here, and I will do it for you.
Such deletions will be reported in the normal way in the ELIST echo area.
Vincent
