Hello Andy,
When I have played all the rounds for the day, the game is finished for that day. But when you try to start the game again,
it doesn't work; it seems like the game isn't working.
Is it possible to show a screen stating that the game is finished for today or something?
Right now it looks like the game isn't working because you can't start
it up anymore.
Hello Leo! Thank you for the feedback and for trying out the game.
Immortal Barons mirrors the prompt and input system of Barren Realms Elite, but
some of the prompts or inputs may be broken. As far as I can tell, the prompt at the opening menu is working as intended:
If you have turns remaining for the day, the prompt will say "Play" and pressing 1 or Enter will start the game.
If you are out of turns for the day, the prompt will say "Quit" and pressing enter will quit. If a player presses 1 (play) when they are out of turns, they will get a message:
Sorry, you have used all of your turns today.
The game refreshes every time, and when you are at an input field, I
see this
every time.
And that causes errors during data entry.
I think I know what you mean there. I fixed that a couple days ago.
When playing the game for the first time, you have to enter your alias
or another name.
While entering my alias, there were refreshes, and now my name is in
the game Lenbarn.
And when entering your name or alias, your alias appears at the
beginning of the input field; you currently have to enter your alias yourself, but you can also press Enter so that it is automatically entered.
The name or alias that appears is your BBS name or alias, and at the prompt, it's asking to name your realm (or empire). I worked on that code a little after reading your message, and made a few changes. Pressing enter there won't fill in your BBS name automatically, but you will get a y/n prompt to Quit. The
behavior of Barren Realms Elite was to exit without prompt if someone only hit enter without adding the name of an Empire.
And that applies to multiple fields where you display the value, and
then you have to enter it manually. Enter seems more convenient to copy the value that is already there.
I'm not sure which fields you are writing about. I did some work on the prompts
a couple days ago, and hopefully some of them are fixed now. I know the prompts
to set industries weren't working correctly, and a few others. Could you try the latest snapshot and if you see strange behavior, could you tell me which prompt you were at, or copy and paste in the output? If it's easier, you can email attach a screenshot to me.
