Sure enough, I was reaching the 2GB limit that MS Outlook has with
its email .PST files.
What version of Outlook are you using? Outlook 2007 has a 20GB .PST
file limit and Outlook 2010+ has a 50GB limit.
Outlook 2007 here. But it definitely stops at 2GB. Apparently, the system allows different types of .pst. Mine is "Personal Folders
File (97-2002)".

I wonder if it's as simple as creating a new .PST in Office
2007 and then dragging & dropping the folders into the new
.PST?

That gives me some breathing room to grow again and ignore
the next batch of incoming crap.
install Thunderbird and problem solved... :)
