In my area (a bit south of Algonquin Park) the humidity hasn't been as bad as in
previous years, so far. I have a split-level home. The lower level is very cool, but too cold to sleep there. This year, I rigged up a fan to blow the air from the lower level to the foyer level (ground level), and another fan to blow the air from the foyer to the next upper level (main living area). This hack has resulted in reducing the upper level temps from 88F-90F down to 77F

In other years, I would just park a cot in the foyer and sleep there during the worst of it.

I can attest to having to chew the air in Ontario.. Honestly, the last few days, both the wife and I have had a headache from low air quality and pollen. We live in the most poluted city in Canada. The air here is far worse than Toronto, so I totally get it.

Shawn, I know 30c is near 90f, but have no idea what "chew the air" means.

    August,

My Dad lived in a split-level home for a while.

Dad asked a Heating Contractor why the lower level was so cold in the
    Summer Time.

The Heating Contractor said: Dad should shut off the lower level air vents
in the Summer time as the cool air would descend to the lower level.

25c is acceptable to me. So that's a good system!

In other years, I would just park a cot in the foyer and sleep there during the worst of it.

Before I had the second bedroom A/C Andrea and I would often drag the
matress to the living room and just sleep that way in the worst of it.

... It was such a lovely day, I thought it was a pity to get up.
