Dan,
I had to look him up, and found a few videos on youtube of his shows.
It looks like he was spot-on with his performance of Red.
This was long before COVID-19, and like the other shows in Branson, you
were lucky to be able to get tickets to a show.
It's a shame that comedy today isn't even close to the same level as it was back in the days of Red Skelton, Jerry Lewis, etc...
There was another show, "An Evening With Groucho", where the guy made it
look like Groucho had come back from the dead.
My late father and I went to see the show, and he wanted a seat in the
front row. I told him "If we get in the front row, he's going to give us
grief all night long".
Sure enough, on opening night, there was a bald man in the front row,
and he rubbed the guy's head...saying "I'm Groucho Marx. This is Karl Marx. Sorry about the Revolution, Old Man". <G>
He was doing a song about Lydia the tattooed lady, and this heavy set
woman in the front row was just beside herself in laughter. He asked her
what her name was...and when she said "Lydia", it brought the house down
in laughter, and he nearly fell off the stage!! <BG>.
