From Alan Beck@1:229/426.36 to all on Sat Oct 10 08:43:32 2020
So I tried Larry Bond's "Dangerous Ground" and realized I don't have to keep reading this if I don't want to.

Asimov is what I picked up next.

"Rendevous with Rama" is the title.

    Andy,

    Thanks for that.

Anyone else have some favorite sci-fi novelists?

Of course there are the Stargate Fandimoniom books, but some are pretty "camp". Sort of hokey.

So, who are the current in the last 25 years popular Hard Sci-fi
    writers?

I have not been able to read due to a medical condition, I have lost the
    last 25 years.

Now I can read a novel in 3-4 days and I am very glad for it.

    Congratulations!

Two of my favorite (sci-fi) books are from when I was about 16 (the
80's). Memories by McQuay and Millenium by John Varley.

Sorry, I can't cite anything from the last 25 years. It's very difficult for me to find a book I *really* like. Most recently I've been reading musical biographies, such as 1970, and a bio about George Harrison. Also earlier this year read an authorized bio of Gene Roddenberry and Robin Williams. All good for those into that type of thing.

East of Eden by John Steinbeck is great, but doesn't fit into any of the above categories. ;)

The intro blurb to Daemon, Daniel Suarez (Daemon # 1) sounds similar
the TV series NEXT, where some "code" escapes out of the lab onto the internet an starts manipulating people .

I just watched that over the weekend & was thinking the same thing!

I remember staying up way too late some nights reading/listening to this book because I was just too captivated by the story. "Just one more chapter..."
