    Hello All!

Just received my order from eBay:

U.S. Robotics Courier V.Everything, original, with the silver front plate, factory sealed.

    Comes with floppy disks:
    - QuicklinkII Fax and Telecom software
    - Stampede Remote Office
    - CompuServe Access

Already made couple connections with the other nodes. =)

I'd love to have a POIS line as I have one of those modems also but copper landlines are no longer available in my area. :(

Same thing here, I ended up using VOIP<>ATA. It's hard to get more than 9600 on it, but at least something.

True. I use Vonage for VoIP and I do have the ability to add a second line. I'll try it out one of these days.

I technically can get a landline but I have to own a business to qualify for it. All of these big telcos buying the small ones and eliminating
competition and choice at the same time.

    I use voip.ms - $0.85/month + $0.0090 per minute. Can't be any cheaper.

what kind of ATA do you have?
i managed to get really nice speeds with my dlink&linksys atas.

    - minimize the Packet Length (eg. 10ms instead of 20ms)
    - limit to g.711u/a codec only
    - set all echo cancellation options to disabled
    - disable all fax functions

I tried both OBI300 and Cisco SPA122, Cisco works much better.

    - minimize the Packet Length (eg. 10ms instead of 20ms)
I missed that part! Just changed RTP Packet Size from 30 to 10 and now speeds are much better!
Now I can only init with AT&F1#CID=1 instead of AT&F1&N6&M5#CID=1. THANKS A LOT!

    - limit to g.711u/a codec only
    - set all echo cancellation options to disabled
    - disable all fax functions
    In Addition:
    - Network Jitter Level - Extremely High and disabled live adjustments.
    - Disable Silence Suppression.

That is amazing you can still order a USR modem?

I don't even know where there is a POTS.

Already made couple connections with the other nodes. =)

What was your connection speed and trasnfer rate?
