I was doing some research on a Commodore-related topic and happened to
see that comp.sys.cbm is still alive and still experiencing a trickle
of traffic.
I remember giving up on Usenet (or Google Groups, if you prefer) a long time ago, because the level of spam was unreal.
I was crazy active in this newsfroup in the 1990s. I used to maintain
the North American BBS list, and answer random GEOS questions. It was
fun to see my name is still in the FAQ, albeit tied to an email address that I lost access to about eleventy billion years ago.
The last thing I posted of any consequence was over 20 years back, and began with, "Well, I've been spending a little time tidying up my disk archives. (A painful process...I had *far* too many shoeboxes)"
Sadly, my life took me in unexpected directions. I still have too many shoeboxes full of floppies. And now I also have bitrot. *sigh*
Anyway, aside from here, and the Lemon forums, where are the CBM converstations happening these days? I've been away a long time, but nostalgia bug is starting to bite, and I have unfinished projects to revisit...
