  • "Decode": how to make computer play?

From Brandon Taylor@3:770/3 to All on Sun Sep 13 14:25:10 2020
Hi. Here's the BASIC program "Decode" originally written by Tom Rugg and Phil Feldman as part of "More Than 32 BASIC Programs for the Commodore 64 Computer", shown on three pictures which reside on my Google Drive. I'll attach the pictures to the email.

My question is, has someone in the C64 community been able to devise a way to make the C64 guess a secret code chosen by the player, and have the player tell the computer the number of "blacks" (correct number in correct position) and "whites" (correct
number in wrong position) after each guess?
