Howdy! Nice to see a human in here!

I'm a long way from San José, up in western Canada! (Vancouver)

I've heard of your sharks you have there -- (sharks in Texas?! Well, so says the NHL games listings)

Our NHL tram is the Vancouver Canucks, but recently rebranded as the Orcas -- I think the new owner's holding off on making it fully in play as that name -- we protested mightily. We're Mighty Canucks, not a freaking FISH(close enough!)

& I'm not talking the famous: ἰχθύς (Ichthus-- the name for the drawn fish
used as a code for meeting places(home churches) by the earliest Christians.

It(ΙΧΘΥΣ) was(& is) also used as an acronym: The Greek letters could be referenced to the Greekl for these lines: Jesus
    Christ
    Son of God
    Saviour.

Or more of a breakdown & explanation:
    Ι Jesus
    Χ Christ
    Θ of God
    Υ son
    Σ Saviour

I would count this on topic, as all of this is in the Christian half of the Bible, except maybe for the literal fish(ΙΧΘΥΣ) part, but those words, phrases,
& concepts associated with ΙΧΘΥΣ certainly were!

Got any Bible relsated info you'd like to share and/or ask about?

I think Daryl Stout is the echo owner/moderator, but I'm not 100% sure -- go ahead & write him directly, or in response to one of his daily Bible Verse postings. He's closer to you & at least in your own country, so you two might have more of a shared understanding of your own contexts as being American. -- he's in Little Rock AR.

I conerct to his BBS when it's up (he's currently furiously working on fixing several bugs)

I call(telnet in to) several BBSes, mostly Synchronet-based OS. FamilyNet is a free board with a Christian outlook, as is Daryl's board. I don't have a boazrd up quyite yet, sorry.

I'm an old fogey from the early, pre-giant commercialized internet (pre-Google & Facebook, even!), days!

I dialed into dozens of boards daily, some thousands of miles away, but still accepting dialup calls from a DOS term program. . . ahh, the good ol' daze: DOS IST GUT (that was my motto then, but the NSA(& DHS) has killed it off,
    including DOSModems.

So, write back, talk about yourself a little & what you hope to find in this group -- I hope to get some vigorous conversations going, so we can do the iron-sharpens-iron thing for each other!

Need people in here first & you're a big step for that -- pretty much just added 50% population all by yourself!

Jon us; have fun, ask questions, make bold statements (but please provide backup for non-standard statements I love to read up on new concepts & learn, whether I agree off-hand or not -- I'm in Lifelong Learning Mode, in everything.

I'm going to post a convo starter after I send this to you.
