I'm not quite sure what this area is for since there are no messages.

I'm starting an old successful system from scratch at telnet shs.now-dns.org port 23. Ele/Win32 with ftp and nntp as well for messages and files. Door games are online. I'm planning on adding interbbs and fidonet soon. Check me out for the hell of it.

You're not old unless you are in DOS. ;)

FWIW: here's the last elist entry, from Sep 2015, for this area...

note that yes, it was dropped from the elist and never relisted or renewed... while it is still listed as being "carried on the backbone" (by virtue of being listed in backbone.na), this may not remain true and the area may be moved to a non-backbone distribution group by carrying systems or they may elect to drop the area altogether... we'll just have to see what the next backbone.na and backstat files bring us...

it should be noted that the above FTN address no longer exists, frank is not listed in the fidonet nodelist with any other address, and scinet seems to be another dead/defunct FTN othernet...

All of the above is true. However, the tried and true Fidonet way is to hold on to old and defunct stuff as long as you possibly can. ;)

    Nick

maybe I should take over the echo since I am the current owner of bbs-scene.org even if I had no real plans in place of what to do with it. lol I just liked it.
