Anyone traveling to the United States will no longer have to show a negative corona test from tomorrow morning, Sunday 12 June. The White House announced this on Friday evening. The need to show vaccination certificates will remain in effect.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) health agency, which operates on behalf of the Biden administration, has said that "on the basis of scientific data," the requirement to show a negative test could be lifted overnight.

It concerns passengers who board the plane after midnight, local time on the American east coast, from any country.

CDC does keep its finger on the pulse: the PCR test will come back if new, dangerous variants of corona emerge, the government service reports.

In most European countries, the mandatory test for travelers has already been abolished in recent months.
