The Iranian government is paying the relatives of the plane crash with Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 compensation of $ 150,000 per family. It has been almost a year since the Ukrainian Boeing 737-800 was shot down by the Iranian armed forces.

The disaster occurred on January 8 2020, when the passenger plane was mistaken for an enemy aircraft by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Boeing was shot down by an anti-aircraft missile shortly after departure. All 176 occupants were killed.

Iran initially firmly denied having anything to do with the disaster, claiming the plane had technical problems. Later the country reluctantly admitted to being responsible.
