    AT THE MAIN PROMPT

IRC RoFIRC, the Reign of Fire server
ZIRC ACN, the Amiga Chat Network

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Two chat networks, one prompt. Either way the board makes the
connection for you -- there is no client to set up and nothing to
install. They are different things, though, so here is what each one
    is.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    RoFIRC - OUR OWN SERVER

RoFIRC is the Reign of Fire chat server. It is a public IRC network,
so you can reach it from the board with IRC at Main, from your own
IRC client, or from a browser -- whichever suits you.

    Server irc.rofbbs.com
Secure port 6697 TLS - recommended
    Plain port 6667 not encrypted
    Network ROFNet
Web chat.rofbbs.com full IRC in a browser

The secure port is new. RoFIRC now accepts encrypted connections on
6697 using a certificate issued by Let's Encrypt for irc.rofbbs.com.
Your client checks it the same way a browser checks a web site, so
nothing you type crosses the open internet in the clear -- including
your NickServ password. Port 6667 is still there for older clients
and Amiga software that cannot do TLS, but it is not encrypted. Use
    6697 if you can.

ZIRC - THE AMIGA CHAT NETWORK (ACN)

ACN links Amiga BBS systems from around the world into one chat
network. It runs on Zircd, a lightweight IRC server written for BBS
use by vorlon of Dragon's Lair.

ACN is not a public IRC network and has no server address you can
point a client at. You reach it from inside a participating Amiga
BBS -- here, that is ZIRC at the Main prompt. That is the whole
idea: it is a chat network for BBS callers rather than one the BBS
    happens to sit next to.

    Channels:

    #bbs #amiga #trivia

Other boards carrying ACN, if you want to see it from somewhere
    else:

    Dragon's Lair dragon.vk3heg.net port 6800
CIA Amiga BBS ciaamiga.org port 6400
    Wrong Number 3 wn3.wrgnbr.com port 6400

Those are the boards themselves, not IRC servers -- call them the
usual way and look for the chat option. Sysops who want to link
their own Amiga board into ACN should contact one of those three
    admins.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Talk with BBS sysops, FTN nodes and retro enthusiasts from around
the world. Everyone is welcome, lurkers included.
