• Best Telnet terminal for Amiga

From Nicola Mettimano@2:335/601 to All on Sat Feb 4 17:47:14 2023
Hello guys, I use Miami DX as a TCP Stack so I need a telnet terminal that use TCP IP; i tried DCTelnet 1.5 but but I'm not very happy with it...
For example it is not automatically recognized as ansi terminal even if ansi displays without problems.
Can you give me some advice please?

I use Term 4.8 with Telser. This is bar far the best Amiga Terminal out there by far!

Another vote for Term 4.8 with Tesler -- I have mine set to use the HyperANSI font, seems to be working well with everywhere I'm connecting to!

NewBlue is another really good font that has the full IBM character set. It looks a bit nicer than HyperANSI .. it's not so 'roundish'

How are you guys configuring telser.device? I've been trying to get it to work on WinUAE but all I get is a guru .. I've tried using both the built in bsdsocket.library and using the ethernet emulation with Genesis stack on FS-UAE and same deal ...

I just enabled bsdsockets in my emulator (AmiBerry in this case) and then installed telser -- I installed it by selecting AmiTCP as the install option, after that it kind of just worked!

i'm not quite sure where to put the keyfile though -- still learning my way around Workbench a bit

Thanks! I feel it's mentioned in passing somewhere, but my comprehension skills sometimes aren't the best!
