Sorry. It's always a wee bit nervous to see if everything is done correctly, lot's of manual editing of various configs, when importing a new echo into the local system.

Thanks for the confirmation. I missed one spot after the first attempt...

    Wonderful!

Y'all see, I have a returnee from the 90s, who is determined to put up a Fidonet node on his Amiga 3000, and he asks a lot of questions that I'm not the man to answer. My Amiga experience is 15 years old now, and you know how fast one forgets when you no longer are using it?

Anyway, I hope to lead him to this echo, where he can get advice from the experts. If it's OK...?

I am in the same boat. I see a lot of BBSs recently running various legacy software and I don't know what it's all about. I am a PC kinda guy I guess.

Anyway, I hope to lead him to this echo, where he can get advice from the experts. If it's OK...?

in this particular case, it is partly due to the bbs package i'm running... it is also partly (mainly?) due to the fact that i'm using native methods to connect to my bbs... ssh, telnet, and rlogin are all supported as well as a few other methods... using those methods directly from the konsole gives me native support for UTF-8... that would be a lot different if i were using a terminal application like telix, procomm, and similar... on kubuntu using konsole even zmodem transfers just work right out of the box ;)

Just getting back into all things Amiga after DECADES of computing, and
I'm really pumped. While I don't have any "real" hardware (yet), I've got
a C-NET BBS up and running on Win-UAE (actually ported the PiMiga 2
project drives over and it SCREAMS) and I'm working on getting the BBS
    designed and launched.

I also recently acquired a MiSTer and I'm playing around with MiniMig, but
for some reason can't get the PPP/Internet connection working with ANY of
    the TCP/IP stack software.

I was thinking about running C-NET on the MiSTer, but then realized it's probably be down a lot as I play around with the other OSs, ha.

    Cheers!

Nice! So now the stage is set for Conny, the returnee. But I guess he's busy at night, watching the fantastic Northern Light display that we have over Sweden now.

My daughter, who lives in Pite, not far from the arctic circle told me about it in a Wordfeud chat last night. I didn't think much about it, since I live in Gteborg -- usually much too far south to be able to see it.

But I should have looked out the window, because now reports are coming in on the news, that the light show could be seen even in Skne, the southernmost part of Sweden. This time I even have a camera (in a POCO x3 phone) that's capable of catching the show. We had a clear sky all over Sweden last night and Conny lives in the middle of Sweden.

Alas, it doesn't look too good this night, it's cloudy now, so maybe Conny can find some time... :)

If you are looking for WinUAE, it's a free download:

    https://www.winuae.net/download/

I bought the cheapest Amiga Forever ("Value Edition" - $10 USD) to get
the kickstart ROMs and was off to the races.

The PiMiga 2 stuff has been a blast, too, comes LOADED with games, tools,
apps. etc. and a slick Scalos workbench replacement.

Working on learning C-NET now :)
