I wasn't in HAM back then, but I suspect it has to do with the
    'hobby' aspect...

Ok, another question, what's the connection with BBS'ing and HAM radio?
I HAVE seen, over the years, there were alot of HAM radio/BBS's in my
area in the 90's. Curious what's the connection?

    Thanks

    Hehe!!!

I used to go to the barbershop every week, I had the same haircut for the last 5 or so years, faded, and thin on top. I remember, like it was yesterday! (I wish it was!) when I finally started going bald, I thought my barber messed up my hair! I went home, got in the shower, looked in the mirror, and I thought I cut my hair too then on the top of my head! I didn't wanna believe I was going bald! So I rushed back to the shop to complain!! hahaha

We had a good (tearful!) laugh about it! I started to just cut it all off, so I DID save some money! ;)

Well, the last 7 days training:

Wed - Gym (legs and upper body), then a lassage, followed by some light javelin throwing.
Thu - Track session - Warmup, drills then 5 x 80m at 85% effort (which is enough to get me to around 30 km/h these days!)
Fri - Gym (core) followed by yoga.
Sat - 3.3km cross country relay leg.
Sun - Track session - warmup, 6 x 200m with reducing rest, then gym (legs and core)
Mon - 3km treadmill and gym (core)
    Tue - Today! - warmup, 5 x 300m at 1km pace (roughly).

    Welcome to my world. :D

Unfortunately, that means I don't get to play radio as often as I used to. :) Need to reconnect with the local club.

Hehe, my primary goal is speed. Currently, I can run the 100 metres in a little over 13 seconds (Remember, I'm 51 :) ), but I believe I can get that time down quite a lot. However, there is some truth in your question, I have been known to do a decathlon, and want to do another one next summer. The throwing will certainly help my points on some of my weaker events (I'm not a thrower at all, and 3/10 decathlon events are throws).

This time of year, my focus is on general fitness - strength, power, endurance, flexibility, while doing enough speed work to maintail my basic skills, without being overtaxing. I also have to regularly work on acceleration repition, because that is the weak part of my race, despite having more power than average. So far, repetition is my friend there.

You wouldn't be the first who's asked for my help, or that I've given help to with their fitness. :)

Oddly enough, I've been like a good fortified wine or whisky, and am improving with age. :)

to make it more of my routine. I actually been losing weight over the last 2 months. I feel healthier!

Yeah, definitely have to make it routine. Having a sport to pursue certainly helps me, as that adds training commitments and competition. Off down the coast for a cross country relay this coming Saturday. My leg is 5.7km (around 3.5 miles). :)

Hmm, feel free to drop me a netmail to continue, or perhaps over in FSXnet. :)

Creeping back on topic, I'd like to have another go at ARDF, now that I'm at my best long distance fitness ever. The DF and navigation parts are no issue for me, I'm a natural at both, it's the distance running aspect that was my weak link back in 2003. But I still managed 2 team gold (2m and 80m) and an individual bronze (in the open 80m event) at the 2003 Region 3 ARDF Championships.
