Yes, it does. But to Lefties anything not ultra-left is "far right".
That's why many classical liberals are no longer "left". They are center leaning toward the right today.

It's funny to listen to JFK today. If you gave a JFK speech today, the
    Lefties would call you ultra-right.

Seriously? There are moderates, centrists, liberals, conservatives, and everything in between. For example, I am socially liberal but fiscally conservative yet I also believe in socialized healthcare. Does this make me a "leftie" or a "little to the right", don't care. I believe it is a requirement to be "all-in" with a party or a belief system.

Socialized health care lowers the cost of health care for everyone.

The same way a socialized police force lowers the cost of policing, ditto for the fire & rescue services. It makes good conservative sense.

How fiscally conservative can you be if you're electing people who want socialized healthcare for the entire world at the American taypayer's expense?

I believe everyone in the US is entitled to healthcare. Let's do some creative math and call this "Brian's Healthcare Example".

Right now I contribute $450 each paycheck that covers medical, dental, and vision for myself, wife, two daughters, and son. $11,700/year

I have a $1,200 family deductible that must be paid before the insurance starts paying anything. That amount is $7,000, less $1,200, because everything after $1,200 is 80/20. For the insurance company to start paying everything I must fork over $18,700 per year.

So, we are now at $18,700 out of pocket maximum per year.

Let's say I make $50,000 per year. My maximum out of pocket is $18,700 or 37.4% of my gross pay, not net. Let's assume my marginal tax rate is 12% (married filing jointly). This removes another $4,584 in taxes (50,000 - 11,700 = 38,300 - 12% (4,596) = 33,704 (net)). $33,704 / 26 = $1,296.30 per paycheck (26 cycles per year).

So, my gross take home per year is $33,704. If you account for groceries, utilities, and the bare necessities, you'll be lucky to survice on $200/mo.

Now, let's take various socialized healthcare plans that are being touted by the Democrats... 3% of Gross covers medical, dental, and vision. Again, let's go back to our $50,000 gross per year, less 3%. That is $1,500. Even if we keep the marginal tax rate of 12% on $48,500, or $5,820, our net take home is $42,680 per year ($1,641 per cycle).

The math is there. Your inability to see the benefits of it for those that are grossly underpaid is why states like Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, and many rust and bible-belt states have people choosing between feeding their family or getting healthcare.

Now, what about someone making $150,000/year. Okay, 3% is $4,500. It's a fair share. This reduces the income to $145,500, less the marginal tax rate of 22% or $32,010, leaves $113,490 NET.

Again, how or why is this a problem? It works for Medicare/Medicaid as its been paid into on everyone's paycheck since they started working. Change the formula and everyone no longer goes bankrupt trying to stay healthy (or get healthy).

You're ignoring the open border and only thinking about yourself.

No, I am thinking of the vast population of Americans who are suffering at the hands of insurance companies and healthcare providers. Just last year I had to put out close to $19,000 to cover medical expenses (including insurance). How is this right? How is this logical? I don't care about the border; it's always been porous and this is from someone who grew up in Southern California. Let's focus on the real problems in America, not some made up Trump Fantasy Island.

What about when the USA is paying for all of central america's health care? You're too old to care - but how will your kids feel about paying that bill?

Again, where in hell are you coming up with this Central America line? Similar to other countries, Canada, Germany, UK, Japan, etc., their universal healthcare covers citizens. I will never be too old to care but I also believe in giving a pathway to citizenship to anyone who comes across the border.

How will chemotherapy for all of central america's cancer victims become affordable for your kids? It's not like dropping a nickel in a UNICEF box.

Again, this doom and gloom line is getting old.

In 2019, the personal income of people in the United States wa approximately $18.5 trillion. So, again, let's calculate 3% on that, which is $525 billion. If we can't cover every citizen in America on $525 billion a year, we've got bigger issues.

Do you think people will chose 1) Die in of cancer in Honduras (or) 2) Walk into the USA and demand that Joe Biden pay for the chemo?

Again, the line is getting old. Where are you getting this Honduras crap? Please, site a reliable source.

Socialized health care for all Americans sounds good - socialized health care for anyone in the world (with 2 feet to walk on) sounds disasterous.

70 countries in the world offer universal healthcare including China and India, the two highest populated countries in the world. Please provide your logic as well as suggestions on what they are doing wrong so that we can fix it for them.

What about maternity leave? And paternity leave? I mean, both parents
should have time off to raise their babies, not just one of them.
And then there is the cost of child care. Certainly parents who work
should not have to pay for child care while their kids are at home.
None of them would be able to afford to work. And the world wonders
why the population of Germany is declining.

This is especially true in the eastern part of Germany. But today's
Germany is united, so this population decline is more universal.

    Hello Tim,

Socialized health care lowers the cost of health care for everyone.

As well as the quality of healthcare.

I do not find people from Canada flocking to the USA for health care.
I do not find people from Europe flocking to the USA for health care.
I do not find people from the UK flocking to the USA for health care.
I do not find people from Australia or NZ flocking to the USA for
health care. But I do find lots of people in the USA who are still
desperate for access to quality health care. Why is that? The USA
supposedly has the best health care in the world, but at much higher
cost, and is not accessible to all. Something is definitely wrong
with this picture. And it needs to be fixed.

The same way a socialized police force lowers the cost of policing, ditto >AI>for the fire & rescue services. It makes good conservative sense.

`Socialized policing'! .....Yeah....I can see it now....

    Government provides, business denies.

Funny I do not find doctors from Canada flocking to the USA.
Funny I do not find doctors from Europe flocking to the USA.
Funny I do not find doctors from the UK flocking to the USA.
Funny I do not find doctors from Australia or NZ flocking to the USA.

Maybe it is because countries from everywhere else have caught
on to the insurance scam being run in the USA. By making access
to quality health care available for everyone, none of their
own doctors wants to go anyplace else. What a novel idea! We
should try it in the USA! See what happens!

And while it's nice to get treatment when you need it, I prefer
paying for it without requiring treatment.
    [...]
Your last sentence, can you clarify what you mean?

I think most people don't like seeing how much they paid for something they haven't needed so far. But on the other hand, I've never heared of anyone buying a car and then removing all the airbags to sell them and get some money back for something they are never going to need. Having 12 airbags in your car is "look what I can afford", but medical treatment is "why does it cost so much?".

    What about maternity leave?

Every cuntry has that - except for the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Papua New Guinea and a devoloping country somewhere between Canada and Mexico. :-)
(acutally it's about 10 out of almost 200 that don't, but only one industrialized country)

And then there is the cost of child care. Certainly parents who work
should not have to pay for child care while their kids are at home.
None of them would be able to afford to work. And the world wonders
why the population of Germany is declining.

The Nazis and the Socialists had free and mandatory child care, so they could "educate" them well. And there wasn't even a need for giving jobs to women in Eastern Germany, there wasn't a sufficient amount of work to be done and there were no materials to produce anything with. And when they got "money" for sitting around at "work", there was nothing they could buy with their Eastern "money". People risked being imprisoned and getting shot for leaving that country, the ones who want it back probably got brainwashed quite well in "child care".

At least Hungary is paying women to make babies. And also Russia.
They know what happens when there are no longer enough people around
to work and pay their taxes ...

The world's population is growing exponentially. The world's GDP is growing exponentially. Productivity is increasing as well. There's no need for millions of people with shovels, when five people can operate a machine that excarvates 10,000 cubic meters of coal per hour.
Land area is finite, we can decide to not have more babies or we can wait for the day when there's too little land to grow food on.
