The latest quote of from Trump shows how he is managing the Covid
pandemic. I.e. ignore it and expect it to go away on its own -- or let
    the states handle it.

Is it any coincidence that most of the states that are running off the
chart with number of infections and hospitalizations and deaths are in
states with Republican governers who are following Trump's lead in what
    to do.

One thousand plus deaths per day. more than 160,000 deaths overall.

I haven't read anyone blame Trump for the caronavirus. I have read many say that his response to it could/should have been better. It seems that he considered the problem to only be hurting blue states so he left it for "them" to deal with. It is hurting all states equally today and he still has no plan to bring the situation under control.

States opened back up to quickly before the curve was flattened so now there are many new cases and deaths on a daily basis and now he wants schools opened back up in the middle of all that - when/where will that end?

However, this part sounds like news with a twist. All I know is New York. It was the world's epicenter at first, but now officials for the state of New York are claiming a victory with flattening the curve. This is the most liberal blue state in all of the USA (in my opinion.)

Trump gave state governors autonomy with handling coronavirus. Some states have done poorly with reopening (Arizona, Florida, Texas) but the media (and Democrats) prefer to blame Trump instead of blaming Democratic state governors.

How would the USA react if Trump were to deploy our military to enforce mask wearing? Or if he used the military to enforce social distancing? They're just opportunists looking for ways to make gay marriages gayer, to make abortions more painful, or to make counterfeit money more legal. Anyone who stands in the way of liberal policies as much as Trump does, is in for trouble.

Trump is "in favor" of reopening schools, but again, he's not dictating school openings; he's letting the governors control school reopenings. When those governers do a bad job, fingers will be pointed at Trump because his voice sounds like Sinatra.

    Hello Greg,

The number of people who are getting sick, and dying, are still far
too high. Not just in New York, but everywhere.

The U.S. has tested over 60 MILLION Americans, far more than any other
    country in the world.

The US has one of the worst records in regards to the number of
tests per capita. Barely 60 million tests out of a total population
of 320 million. That is horrible. And the turnaround for results
makes many of those tests meaningless, as so much time has elapsed
making it impossible to do contact tracing on those who have tested
    positive.

The mortality rate (deaths per 100,000 people) clearly shows the
US as having a problem. A huge problem, with the US now #4 in the
world with 47.93 deaths per 100,000 people. Once schools open,
and football season begins, the US will jump to #1 - which is now
being held by the UK with 69.63 deaths per 100,000 people.

You see, even if the US had done no testing at all, it would still
have the same mortality rate of 47.93 deaths per 100,000 people.

Thanks to Trump's own incompetence, we do not have enough PPE gear

At first we know nothing how to combat the unseen killer.
Through the leadership of President Trump we now have PPE gear
including ventilators and pharmaceuticals which have proven effective
as indicated by Doctors from around the world.

Too little, too late. The medical system was and still is under strain
for getting sufficient PPE. In many areas the hospitals are strained to
over capacity. We do not have any effective treatment pharmaceuticals.

    What's More Important?
    - Going to school or protesting?
    - Church or Protesting?
    - A loved one's funeral or Protesting?

How about a fair comparison: what's more important?
going to school or having people get sick and die?
going to church or having people get sick and die?
going to a funeral or having people get sick and die?
going to a political rally or having people get sick and die?

Estimates seem to vary between less than 10,000 and 50,000. There is no comparison. A better question would be how many people might not have
died if the federal government at least tried to do something about
COVID instead of a policy somewhere between wishing it will soon go away
and pushing blame to the states.

New York has done great because of the leadership of its Governor. It
did the right things and has squashed the virus outbreak there. You
should be thankful to the leadership for that.

Trump gave state governors autonomy with handling coronavirus. Some

the media (and Democrats) prefer to blame Trump instead of blaming Democratic state governors.

You call it giving them autonomy -- I call it abandoning them to their
own devices. Trump made the states bid against each other for critical supplies, thus driving up the prices. He could have and should have
made a national unified effort and distribution. He even had FEMA
stealing equipment that states had ordered and paid for.

How would the USA react if Trump were to deploy our military to
enforce mask wearing? Or if he used the military to enforce social distancing?

That would never have been necessary. Instead he should have not told
people not to wear masks nor practice social distancing. His constant
repeat of that refrain is one of the reasons that so many of the Red

    Hello Aaron,

Not to worry. Melania will console him. And then leave with her son
for a better life. Apart from Donald.

Why would you wish for a marriage to fail?

Who sez the two of them even live together? Just because they
remain legally married does not mean they share the same bedroom.
Or even the same house. From what I understand, Melania and her
son live with her parents, in a house far from 1600 Pennsylvania
Avenue. It is only for official events that Melania travels to
the White House. And even then, only if requested by Donald.

It's not good to wish bad things on others. It's good to be optimistic.

How is anything I have written wishing bad things on others?
They choose their own lifestyle. She signed a pre-nuptial just

details, as that is being kept hush-hush. But whatever it is,
the two of them are happy. At least for the moment.

100 years, but NY has the best Chinese food, best Italian subs, spiedies,
and best pizza compared with other states that I've tried.

Central Grocery's muffuletta sandwiches are so much better than
Italian subs. And Chinese takeout in the French Quarter cannot be
beat. And pizza on Bourbon Street is nothing like anything else
    in the whole world.

Watch a New Mexican try to make a pizza.. They put jalapenos in the sauce! I
like jalapenos, but come on! The sauce isn't supposed to burn sphincters,

In Hawai'i they put pineapple on hamburgers. In Georgia they put
peaches on SPAM. No. I did that once. My cousin almost killed me.
I survived only because I gave her the rest of my peaches.

But if your great-grandfather was a seafood man, then I get it. We have
crawfish here but nobody eats them. I don't have any idea of how to cook, peel, or eat them.

Oh, that's easy. Pinch da tails, and suck da heads. That's all

Actually it's over 61 Million (& climbing) tests that have been
    administered.

The US has the fourth highest mortality rate in the world due
to the coronavirus, at 47.93 deaths per 100,000 people. That number
is behind only the UK, Peru, and Chile. The US will soon overtake
the UK at the top spot, before the end of this month. The UK has
a mortality death rate of 69.63 per 100,000 people. At 50,000 new
cases per day, the US mortality rate is easily outpacing every
country on earth. With a populationn of 320 million people, I will
let you do the math as to how many people in the US will die as a
result of the insane policies of your orange god.

football season begins, the US will jump to #1 - which is now
being held by the UK with 69.63 deaths per 100,000 people.

Football may still happen but there will not be any fans in the stands, at
least that is what Met Life Stadium has indicated.

One more time. The virus does not care about who it infects, only
how many it can infect. That number being as many as can be found to
infect who can be infected. So, unless one is already infected ...

Trump had several chances to get a better deal, but chose not to.

Just a few weeks ago, in the middle of July, some 250 Mexican

Mexico. All of these people were legal immigrants.

Burying the dead is one of the seven corporal works of mercy,
part of the teachings of Jesus, and practiced by Christians around
the world as a model for how to treat others. This includes feeding
the hungry, and giving alms to the poor. But this country of ours

recent and current statements have caused many Republican states to
ignore the valid scientific advice to their peril.

States have been in control this whole time. They do whatever they
want. But when their plans go awry, they blame Trump. What if Trump
was a Democrat? Then nobody would blame him for anything?

In this case it does not matter whether Trump is a Democrat (he once
was) or a Republican -- what matters is his complete inadequacy at
providing any leadership for dealing with this pandemic. What direction
he did provide was to either ignore the virus or to be totally wrong in
his statements. The tragedy is that many governors followed his
ignorance instead of paying attention to science. If Trump had issued
the proper guidance from the beginning, it is likely that 100,000 deaths
might have been avoided. We currently are at more than 160,000 deaths.
early on, the scientists showed a chart that predicted about 60,000
deaths if the appropriate mitigation measures were taken. Those
measures were not only ignored by Trump, he openly spoke against them
    and publically encouraged ignoring them.

Not much, and the biggest impact came here from Europe.

In early March, the White House officials declared that the US will have
tested one million people that week and would thereafter complete four
million tests per week. In fact, by the end of that week the CDC had
    completed only 4,000 tests.

By the middle of March, it had been declared to be a pandemic. Meanwhile
Trump is saying "we stopped it" as well as "I don't take responsibility

New York has done great because of the leadership of its Governor. It

What do you consider great? Having 20X more deaths than any other
    state?

You should try to fact check your statements. While NY state had more
deaths than any other state, they were among the first to get hit hard
but they have pulled back from that peak. The total number of deaths in
NY is reported to be 32,336. CA has 10,197 deaths and climbing, a ration
just over 3x -- not 20x as you claim.

For the last seven days, NY has had zero deaths.

In terms of total number of cases, NY is not even in first place. It
ranks 4th behind CA, FL and TX.

Forcing nursing homes to take covid patients out of hospitals
and try to care for them? Infecting others at the nursing homes? Slaughtering hundreds of elderly NYers? Great leadership!

That was done with recovering Covid patients at a time when the
hospitals were running over capacity. When the mistake was realized,
it was changed to only recovering Covid patients who had tested
    negative.

made a national unified effort and distribution. He even had FEMA stealing equipment that states had ordered and paid for.

You've got 2 conflicting sentences back to back. First you were
calling for "unified distribution," but then you're complaining
because that's precisely what FEMA did.

No -- they hijacked equipment ordered and paid for the states at
inflated prices. It is not clear what they did with those supplies,
especially when Whitehouse officials declared that the national
stockpile was not for the states to use.

That would never have been necessary. Instead he should have not told people not to wear masks nor practice social distancing. His constant

I never heard Trump say "don't wear masks," or "drink bleach." That's
what liberals wanted to hear but didn't.

He said that it was not necessary to wear a mask -- and that he would
not wear one. He was recorded on one of his press conferences saying
that since bleach is a good disinfectant, it might be a good idea to
    inject it as a cure.

I DID hear Trump say "wear
masks" and "I wear a mask."

Much later -- but he still did not do what he said.

    Hello Aaron,

Do you think a national plan might be in order in this crisis?

Trump closed international travel, but not for illegals. To do that,
he needs cooperation from Democrats that he already knows he's not getting.

Yeah, sorta. But when I speak of a national plan I'm thinking more is needed to prevent further infections and deaths from covid-19 rather than saying "it's under control" or "be calm - it'll go away".

Democrats speak highly of illegal immigrants, but I have yet to hear
them say "Illegal immigrants won't enter the USA if they have the coronavirus."

You are kind of free & loose with the term illegal. Democrats don't in fact support illegal immigrants although they do support immigration.

Our southern border is the biggest joke in the world. Even people from China flock to Mexico when they can't get visas.

I dunno why you bring up the Chinese but I agree you need a secure border. That's a complex issue and I doubt a wall will provide that. Your government officials both Democrat and Republican are going to have to put their heads together and come up with ways to do that.

So despite their best effort, how can anyone continue to allow undocumented humans and halt a virus at the same time?

In Canada there is still no travel except for essential travel. When folks do travel and return they have to self quarantine for 14 days.

Something like that would be needed for anyone after travel regardless of their citizenship or reasons for travel.

Is it necessary to wear a mask? Last I heard, FEMA was advising to
wear a mask to prevent the spread to others, but what if you don't have the virus? Then wouldn't you be just hoarding masks that others need?

In the very beginning, the public health workers had a severe shortage.
At that time Focci and others asked that the public not hoard the K95
masks so the the health workers could have them. Then as other cloth
coverings became more available, it was said that all should wear masks.
That is the response to your last sentence above.

And wearing a mask helps to prevent your spreading the virus to others.
You may well have the virus and be infectious, but not know it. It does
also provide some protection to your getting infected.

    Hello Aaron,

You are kind of free & loose with the term illegal. Democrats
don't in fact support illegal immigrants although they do support
    immigration.

Every Democrat in the presidential primary debates stated that they
were in favor of open borders. They openly said it. When we talk about "open borders" we mean it; for people to come and go as they please,
    with no documentation needed.

Open border and illegal immigrants are two different things.

In contrast, Republicans such as Trump support LEGAL immigration,
meaning people with a visa should come to the USA to live as residents with the option of applying for citizenship.

What trump did in treating asylum seekers as criminals instead of the way asylum seekers had previously been treated, separating children from their parents will not help the situation at your border.

The Democrats are not interested in securing the border, so there's nothing for them to discuss with Republicans. Sure, securing the
border seems like a good idea to combat coronavirus, but the Democrats
are not interested in combating coronavirus either.

It may not be easy but America has to make a decision on what their border policy is and find a way forward.

The coronavirus makes us weak. Democrats prey on the weak. The
coronavirus opens many avenues of opportunities for the Democrats to
offer handouts, criticize Trump, release inmates from prisons and
jails, and get votes the sleazy way.

The caronavirus does more that make us weak. It will kill us and destroy our health care system if we don't flatten, and keep on flattening the curve.

It's not a black or white issue, or a Democrat or Repulican issue.

We're keeping the border to your south pretty tight, but obviously it could use some work too, if your country is interested in containing people during the pandemic.

We are not interested in containing people. We want to keep the spread of the coronavirus as low as possible.

What does Canada do with illegal immigrants? I mean, how do they
handle it? I know the UK doesn't appreciate them much.

Deportation and/or inadmissibility are possible. Inadmissibility means that you would have no legal pathway to apply for Canadian citizenship.

Something like that would be needed for anyone after travel
regardless of their citizenship or reasons for travel.

There's never been a better time than now to combat illegal
immigration, but here in the states, we're not gonna do it. We're not gonna combat it any more than we ever have before. It's not realistic
for us based on the Democrat to Republican ratio in our federal government.

On the bright side the number of people currently entering the US is very low. Perhaps the caronavirus has something to do with that.

So, we need to focus on this question:

How do we get illegal immigrants to self quarantine when they get
    here?

People simply should self quarantine after their travels. I don't know if there is a law like that in Canada but it is good practice and that's the guidance we get so that is what we do.

People should do that in these times regardless of the reasons for their travel or the destinations.

    I agree with you.

Bill Gates wants open borders. Let everybody who wants to come
here do so. Those who make it here will stay. Those who can't will
    leave. That is his philosophy.

    Democrats want illegal immigration to become legalized;

Bill Gates wants to allow everybody to come here. That would mean
no illegal immigrants, as per his own definition. Democrats have rules preventing illegal immigrants from coming here. Republicans, such as
Donald Trump, have no problem allowing illegal immigrants become
legalized, as he actually married one of them.

that's their definition of "open borders."

Let's make Puerto Rico a state.
Let's make the US Virgin Islands a state.
Let's make Guam and the Northern Marianas a state.
Let's make American Samoa a state.

asylum seekers had previously been treated, separating children from

I agree, but separating children from people who may or may not be their >actual parents might be a great thing to do for those kids. Separating
children from people who snuck into the USA might be great for those
    children too.

What is taking place is kidnapping. Not all children and parents
have been able to be re-united due to what has happened. What to do

Asylum seekers arriving at the border on American soil and asking for asylum

Trump made up a rule to change that. In September 2019 the USSC

scary the referee declared Sugar Ray the winner by default.

note: Roberto Duran was recently hospitalized with Covid-19, but
survived. When he was released by the hospital, his victory over the
virus was celebrated by everyone. But then, this was Hands of Stone,
the only boxer who had ever defeated Sugar Ray Leonard in the ring.

Asylum seekers arriving at the border on American soil and asking for
asylum is perfectly legal. That is how it's done. Then they have a
hearing and the immigration department decides to give them asylum or
    not.

Trump made up a rule to change that. In September 2019 the USSC

    Hello Greg,

The coronavirus was first discovered in China. Then it spread to
other countries, and eventually the entire world. That is the way >LL>viruses work. They spread from one place to another, and never
stop until there is nobody left it can infect. Those infected in
China traveled to Europe, and then to the USA. How difficult is
    that to understand?

I understood how viruses travel; before you spelled out how it works. When
this thread began it looked like China was being given a pass, when it
was said that large amounts of the infected were coming from Europe. Make no
mistake, nothing that even renders close to provide a pass to China,
    should be attempted EVER!

Trump's fake travel ban was everything he claimed it was - FAKE!
That is why so many infected people from Europe here able to get
    here.

The FACTS are that Chinese did a lousy job of keeping this within China.

China tried its best to keep it contained, but was unable to do so.
Yes, China was slow in reporting about the virus to the WHO. How slow?
Six days. Did those six days make any real difference as to containing
the virus within China? Absolutely not.

The World Health Organization is not so innocent in this either as the WHO
Chief was hand picked by China. The United States of America was the top contributor more then any other country to the World Health Organization in the world.

The United States could not have contained the virus had it been
first discovered here. Did it even originate in China? Nobody really
knows. It could have been latent for decades, in some rural area,
literally anywhere in the world. Many historians believe the Spanish
Flu might very well have originated in the United States, most likely
in Kansas. Does that mean we should call it the American Flu?

You do see how silly your leader is by calling the pandemic the
Chinese Flu, or "Kung Flu" in his own words? This is no laughing
matter. The entire world is dying as a result of this virus.

Now, they do not get 10 cents from the U.S.A.

Oh, China gets much more than 10 cents from the USA. So much more.
In fact, China got the orange one's full attention. So much so, that
your dear leader cannot get the Chinese leader's out of his mind.

It was Dale's statement that seemed to provide the pass that I was referring
    too...

"biggest impact came here from Europe." Dale Shipp

Please do try to follow the bouncing ball -
People who were infected in China traveled to Europe.
People who were infected in Europe traveled to the USA.
    See how that works?
People who were infected in one place infect other people
in another place who then infect people somewhere else.
And then people who travel everywhere infect people everywhere
so it really makes no difference where they have been, where they
are, or where they are going to.

The biggest "epic center" was where the Virus was led out of the its
creation point from within the Lab.

There is no evidence to support your contention that the virus
was created within a lab. Totally unsupported and unsubstantiated.

Europe the biggest impact? - to use as phrase from Joe Biden: Malarkey

The biggest impact is the entire world. People are dying everywhere.
Not just in China, Europe, and the USA.

You can could Europe into China nearly 4 times.

The UK holds the top spot for the mortality death rate at 70
per 100,000 people. The US is fourth at 50 per 100,000 people.
It will not be long before the US holds the top spot. Whose
fault is that? President Donald J. Trump.

And George Floyd is still breathing just fine, while keeping his
mother company. And let's not forget about all those black kids who >LL>were just playing dead after white cops shot them with blanks.

There was another "leaked video" of the events of what happened before he >died. Do not misunderstand me as I will say here clearly the man did NOT >deserve to die. This video does show everything that happened before the
    viral video that has
seen by millions that has been a tearing at the Nations seams since it was >released.

Floyd was in constraints when his neck was being crushed by the
officer's knee, suffocating him to death. Three other officers chose
to do nothing to intervene, allowing the murder in slow motion to
continue until well after Floyd was dead. And then all four murderers
went back to their station to fill out their report.

    Here is another prospective.
George Floyd's death was tragic but I do not believe for one moment the >carnage and chaos that has happened since does NOT have a thing to do with >Floyd's death.

The only "carnage and chaos" that has happened was Trump's illegal
use of force against peaceful protesters.

Here is that other video (the one, we never got a chance to see) >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPSwqp5fdIw

As the video starts off. He could seem to understand the simple instructions
provided by the cop. To put both hands on the wheel as he did not comply,
he did so with the left
hand only at first, the cop gave the instruction over and over again "put
    the
both hands on the wheel!". I do not see him trying to resist arrest, but it
is apparent that he was very terrified even made said "please don't shot me
man." Again he was terrified, shaken and scared.

Well, whoop tee doo, the officers chose not to shoot him, deciding
to suffocate him instead. What a wonderful way to die!

Although as I say: Floyd was not complaint through most of the video. Either
he did not understand or was stoned out of his mind. (it has been
determined that he did have the narcotic fentanyl was found)

There is no excuse for murder. Which is exactly what this was.

Here are the the medical findings: >https://www.independentsentinel.com/report-full-autopsy-of-mr-floyd-fentanyl-me
    th-and-pot/

I do not see where Floyd was NOT combative just not was not at all coherent >or following the instructions of the officer at 5:12 of the video Floyd says >repeatably "I'm not that kind of guy, I think that this his way of
    indicating
that was not trying to be difficult or combative. Like I have also stated he >was not so good in following the instructions to any degree. Did he deserve
to die: NO! Was he a good man: NO! Good men, do not pass off fake $20.00 bills for real ones, nor do they point a gun at pregnant womens belly. (As alleged in the media.)

Regardless of what your opinion might be, it is totally irrelevant
as to whether Floyd was a "good" man or a "bad" man. There simply is
no excuse for any officer to murder a suspect, especially a suspect
who was already in constraints and on the ground, with three other
    officers around for backup.

Was Floyd guilty of having committed a crime? Let the courts decide.
It is not up to the officers to decide innocence or guilt of anyone.
And especially not by snuffing out the life of the accused by using
    a knee.

I mean, officers do have guns, which presumably are loaded. One
quick shot to the back of the head should do it. A lot quicker, and
totally painless. But no, one officer had to take his time. Eight
minutes, and forty-six seconds. Timed, on camera, for the entire
    world to watch.

And let's not forget about all those black kids who
were just playing dead after white cops shot them with blanks.

To your baseless point (from above)
about these black kids were never shot - playing dead >^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
^^ your words not mine. ^^

Well, Floyd did ask the cops not to shoot him ...

The same is true about those innocent children shot and killed by stray >bullets by those involved with the aftermath of Black on Black Crime and >members of BLM but people on the left will say that was reported by Fox News >and therefore it is considered to be Fake News. You need to develop some sources that tell the truth. It is well known
    that is not Trump.

How could the officers know anything about his history? To say that he deserved to die because "He was not a good man" is tandamont to issuing a vendetta against those who have made mistakes in their life.

You are yet again attempting to twist this.
The definition of tandamont; is as good as.
There is no reference to the word vendetta.

Your definition is correct for the word that I meant to type,
tantamount, and I meant the usage of the term vendetta. You seem to be justifying punishing people for what they might have done in the past.

Good men, do not pass off fake $20.00 bills for
    real ones
It is not proven that he knows that he did that.

It is why the cops arrived on the scene.

The cops arrived at the scene because the clerks in the store said that
they had been given a fake $20 bill. No one ever attempted to determine whether or not Floyd had known that the bill was fake.

If George Floyd simply obeyed all of the officers commands, he would
be alive today, but he calmed he was claustrophobic which is why the police had trouble getting into the back of the police car.

From my observation he appeared to be cramped up within that vehicle

Based on the last police cam video posted, it looks like the police did
not even attempt to question him in any sort of normal interrogation.
Instead they gave him threatening commands while holding a gun on him.
It is believable that having a gun pushed in your face would cause most
    people to "flip out".

I suspect that they (the media that you watch) don't care to show
    this.

I saw what you posted on network news, CNN, MSMBC and FoxNews. What are
    you trying to intimidate?

Does it look like this was done by just a few people, as you have suggested?

No, it does not look like a few people, nor have I previously said that.
I will admit that there was an immediate uprising triggered by pent up
anger that resulting in many people committing acts of violence and
causing great damage. While I can sort of understand their frustration,
I by no means condone their actions. If found, they should be charged
    and prosecuted.

What I have said is that after that initial outburst, the great number
of people began peaceful protests. There were still a few who performed
acts of violence inconsistent with what the majority was doing. Those
people should also be caught, charged and subjected to lawful
punishment. But it cannot be allowed for those few people to tarnish
the legitimate protest of the rest. Nor can they be the justification
for the type of violent treatment that has been meted out to the
protest crowds in some situations, e.g. Lafayette Square.

It would have very easy for the cop to have given Floyd a warrant to
appear in court instead of cuffing him under gunpoint.

It's easy to tell others how to do their job, but Derek Chauvin has a lieutenant to answer to.

Cops give appearance tickets to people who were caught speeding, or running a red light. But certain offenses require the suspect to be detained & processed.

Counterfeiting is not like a speeding ticket. It's like stealing someone's credit card and then trying to use it. People speed by accident, but they don't counterfeit by accident.

I'm confident that a police sergeant isn't going to take a suspect to the police station for processing if he doesn't have to. You seem to be arguing that counterfeiting is as harmless as a traffic violation.

Insurance is not the only means of compensation. They deserve to be compensated for their loss by what ever means possible. It is not
certain that they will receive such compensation.

The best compensation I can think of is prison sentences for the peaceful protesters who looted & burned the places to ground.

Forget about government bail outs - that's just a fancy way to describe our taxes paying for the carnage of peaceful protests.

It's easy to tell others how to do their job, but Derek Chauvin has a lieutenant to answer to.

Derek Chauvin was recently back to work after some kind of an incident, not because he was wanted back but because his contract stipulated he would be back to work.

The police force in Minniapolis has made changes so this doesn't happen since the Goerge Floyd murder although we'll see if those changes do indeed work.

The issue is/was contacts negotiated by police unions that have become very powerful and enable bad behaviour within police departments. In a lot of cases an officer could be fired in one jurisdiction without any record of why and go work in another like nothing ever happened.

    A recipe for disaster.

It is well known that they both worked at the same place. I have not
seen evidence that they actually knew each other or had disagreements.
It is possible, and is something that the detectives handling the case

I had seen it reported on, but upon searching for a source it appears the original witness has changed his story. Hard to say what that means, and I guess we'll have to wait and see.

You need to develop some sources that tell the truth. It is well kno that is not Trump.

Trump is the President even when people like you said he would never

He is that, unfortunately for the country, the economy and the 160,000 dead people.

be the President. It is the lame street media who twists his words an take things out of context and they this deliberately, to plant the seed into the weak minded, who can not think for themselves.

They do not need to twist his words -- they simply quote them. Talk
about planting seed into the weak minded who cannot think for themselves -- what do you think he and Fox news have been doing for years.

What do I think Fox News does is Fair and Balanced and still unafraid...
It was the Hannity show that blew the lid off on the phony Russian dossier
as well of the connections to that were to remain hidden from the American public.

Not intimidate (late night fingers) but indicate, imply or whatever
    fits.

    No worries, I understand.

I will tell you why exactly with what happened at Lafayette Square. The number one job of the Secret Service is to protect the President.

Then why did they suddenly start pushing people back with force,
shooting chemical agents and rubber bullets. If they needed to clear
a path, they could have easily posted it sooner so that Trump could get his photo op in front of the church.

Do you believe that crowd would of stopped or paid any attention to such a sign, I do not believe this either and neither did the people who pushed them in such a way.

Do you know how insurance works beyond inner workings of your mind?

Insurance is not the only means of compensation. They deserve to be compensated for their loss by what ever means possible. It is not
certain that they will receive such compensation.

If it is not certain that they will be compensated, why should they rebuild? With insurance comes "risk assessment" of which is very high when the Police has been told to stand down.

    Hello Aaron,

    The peaceful protesters are burning buildings down and killing people;

Ah, no. The peaceful protesters are not doing this although I know Donald Trump and other weak minded people put it so.

    I'm not gonna join that.

I wouldn't join any rioting or destruction of property either.

I'm not sure how these things become a riot. Anger perhaps.

Holding an entire city hostage, because one color is suffering, that's
not fair to the other colors.

People of color are, and have been for a long time, being killed by police when that is not needed. That is and has been happening on the streets of America.

George Floyd should not have been killed because he used a bad $20 bill (knowingly or not) to buy cigarettes.

That is the reason for the BLM movement.

Citizens shouldn't pay for George Floyd's mistakes or for Derek
    Chauvin's mistakes.

    That is not the case.

They should voice their concerns to the appropriate law makers in
their districts, but then again, there's no free stuff involved when
    you go that route.

Free stuff is not and never was the issue. This was an issue before BLM and is still an issue.

Let's work on the underlying issues that cause these problems and not paint these people as criminals.

    Hello Aaron,

Ah, no. The peaceful protesters are not doing this although I know
Donald Trump and other weak minded people put it so.

We had a "peaceful protest" here in Binghamton. At the conclusion of
the protest, they decided to burn down a handicapped-accessible
    playground owned by the city.

    That's not what I read.

There were over a thousand people marching during the day. Peacefully.

A small number of protesters stayed later but did leave after an organizer asked them to leave and maintain peacefull demonstrations.

They took something away that my kids used to enjoy, and I helped pay
    for.

I'm sorry that happened to your park and hope it can be rebuilt.

"Black Lives Matter" <- That's who did this to us. I'm not blaming someone out of convenience like people do with Trump - this was done
by Black Lives Matter without a doubt.

I believe there was a demonstration there, maybe it was organized by BLM, I'm not sure. I don't believe BLM is reponsible for what happened there and from what I read the mayor doesn't either.

It is convenient to blame BLM but that doesn't make it so. That is not what BLM is all about and it's not the outcome they are striving for.

    Hello Aaron,

You are kind of free & loose with the term illegal. Democrats
don't in fact support illegal immigrants although they do support
    immigration.

Democrats most certainly DO support `illegal immigrants'. They are talking about abolishing Homeland Security.

Every Democrat in the presidential primary debates stated that they
were in favor of open borders. They openly said it. When we talk about "open borders" we mean it; for people to come and go as they please,
    with no documentation needed.

Open border and illegal immigrants are two different things.

How do you think the number of *illegals* living and working in this country gotinto the MILLIONS? Osmosis? Prior to 9/11 illegal aliens poured across the Southern Border in droves! I lived and worked in Arizona for many years, and illegal aliens kncked on my door and asked for food and water all the time; at least once or twice a month.

In contrast, Republicans such as Trump support LEGAL immigration,
meaning people with a visa should come to the USA to live as residents
with the option of applying for citizenship.

What trump did in treating asylum seekers as criminals instead of the way AI>asylum seekers had previously been treated, separating children from their AI>parents will not help the situation at your border.

Pretending to be an `asylum seeker' after getting discovered in a car trunk with two or three other `asylum seekers' doesn't qualify as `seeking asylum'; its called attempting to enter the country *illegally*!

And we have *immigration laws*! Laws are meant to be followed. Democrat
lefties don't follow laws that are inconvient to them. When they want the narrative their way....they quickly find a microphone and spout their version of; "...we are a nation of laws!"

Except when they want to circumvent the law or pretend it doesn't exist at all.Like Hillary Clinton and her crime family destroying cell phones that were under subpoena; taking hammers to hard drives; shredding hard drives.....etc.

The Democrats are not interested in securing the border, so there's
nothing for them to discuss with Republicans. Sure, securing the
border seems like a good idea to combat coronavirus, but the Democrats
are not interested in combating coronavirus either.

It may not be easy but America has to make a decision on what their border AI>policy is and find a way forward.

We already HAVE laws pertaining to border enforcement. They are regularly ignored by democrats.

Deportation and/or inadmissibility are possible. Inadmissibility

Such laws exist here as well. What is lacking is ENFORCEMENT! Until Donald Trump became president here most if not all those `laws' were rarely if ever enforced fully. If they had been e would not now have in excess of 20 or more MILLION illegal aliens in our midst. If Biden wins election it will only get worse.

And George Floyd is still breathing just fine, while keeping his
mother company. And let's not forget about all those black kids who
were just playing dead after white cops shot them with blanks.

There was another "leaked video" of the events of what happened before he GD>died. Do not misunderstand me as I will say here clearly the man did NOT GD>deserve to die.

    A few things need to be pointed out here;

Firstly...Floyd told the cops he was `claustrohobic' when they tried to put
him in the cop car (an enclosed space).

But.....Floyd was intoxicated and passed out behind the wheel of his car (an enclosed space!)

Secondly...Floyd did not die at the scene where they were attempting to arrest him; he died at the hospital.

Thirdly...he did not die of lack of air.... he had methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and high concentrates of alchohol in his system.

His autopsy report shows that blood samples were taken soon after he arrived
at the hospital (around 9pm). He died 25 minutes later (9:25 pm).

People do not die of asphixiation with a `breathing tube' inserted!

He died of an overdose. There were no fatal wounds. His neck wasn't even bruised! The drug effects were enhanced by the alchohol in his system.

He didn't deserve to die. But resisting arrest is not a recommended plan of action at any time.

With the amount of alchohol and ilegal drugs in his system, it is as proper to say he died of an overdose.

those women and babies who are "Democat-paid activists." Right?

The police have always had our back in these situations, and the left wants

On 31 Aug 20 15:05:16, Alan Ianson said the following to Aaron Thomas:

I don't think so. The BLM movement and the issue of police behaviour is not political. It is something that needs to be solved in the departments where these problems exist.

You really make it seem like police departments across North America are routinely targeting and killing black people and that "cops are bad" and
BLM is such a noble cause... that just isn't true by a long shot. Please provide me factual evidence to show me wrong. I already showed evidence to
the contrary in a previous message.

There are such things as bad cops, but its such a small percentage and you of all people should be mildly intelligent to realise that in 2020 everyone is a fucking filmmaker, where seconds of video sets a narrative; but the whole story and footage tells a different story altogether.

I seriously doubt you are related to or friends with anyone in law enforcement for if you were you would not make such ongoing ignorant blanket statements.

Have you actually sat down and talked to a cop about what it is they deal
with? Our tax dollars rightfully go towards their trust that they will deal with crime and enforce laws that we often take for granted. What a cop goes through on a daily shift is no joke; its a seriously emotionally-taxing job
to do. Could you be a cop for a day? I couldn't and doubt you could either.

Sometimes a cop uses excessive force and thats bad, but not every cop is bad just like not every postal worker is going to shoot up their coworkers.

Now in a large city (which I seriously doubt you live in), there exists areas which are of high crime, so naturally there is a high police presence. The
BLM movement specifically calls for the defunding and/or abolishing of the police, so who will patrol and deal with crime in those neighborhoods? Don't believe me? Look at the BLM website.

I have lived in downtown Toronto since 2007. Show me factual evidence of all of these problems you claim exist. Show me where Toronto cops routinely target and *KILL black people*.

What part of "If you don't want to be arrested, don't commit a crime" seems to go over your head? Did you know that the vast majority of Toronto crime is gang-related? What should cops do, ask them politely to stop?

    Hello Aaron,

If the police are so scared of women and babies, we really are in
deep doo-doo. Not that any of those women and babies are as you claim >LL>"Democat-paid activists" - whatever that is.

Nobody was killed in that protest, but people are getting killed in all the
    other peaceful riots.

Joe Biden condemned all acts of violence, regardless of whatever
side did it. And so should we all. As well as your dear preznit.

BLM is not minimizing deaths of other colours, I don't know why you take it that way.

They shot some woman for saying "All lives matter."

The coronavirus is not racist. It will make people sick and some will die regardless of their colour. Perhaps black people are more at risk and I do wish that on them, or anyone.

You're right about that, and same here. But have you heard about this? The media, and Democratic NYC mayor Bill Deblasio want everyone to know that the virus is disproportionately infecting more blacks than whites. Notice how powerful a message like that can be?

When a cop does something wrong they should be reprimanded for that and retrained when that is possible or let go. A permanent record should also b kept so that other jurisdictions don't unknowingly hire a bad cop.

These things already exist. Derek Chauvin, the cop who knelt on George Floyd, is in jail right now. But that's not enough for extremists; they want ALL cops to pay for Derek Chauvin's crime.

Sometimes members of our military mess up too, and they get reprimanded. But just imagine the consequences if we were to defund the military because of it?

You are correct in that it was forcefully cleared, people were gassed
with pepper spray, hit with batons and shields. The people were
peaceful. There was much coverage and criticism of the event. The
people who were shot with rubber bullets were another night, my mistake.

We have all seen how quickly these so called peaceful protest can
    become volatile.

Sometimes precipitated by the actions of the police, sometimes by
radical right-wing groups, and always by a small percentage of those who
    are there.

What are they protesting about in first place?

Against systemic racial prejudice and the resulting actions.

Black Job equality? These people have affirmative action, getting
hired based on their skin color is racist. It should be the right
person wither a man or a women of any race.

Of course it should be. But all too often it is not. In a previous
life, I had the opportunity to help evaluate people for promotion. It
became obvious that people had been held back because of previous discrimination. For example, even though their performance was equal to
other candidates they would be discriminated against because they did
not get a college degree 20 years ago. Some did not have the same job
record because of discrimination in previous years. It would be
wonderful if we did not feel a need to take such past discrimination
into account, and maybe someday that will be true. We are not yet
    there.

Black people wouldn't get killed by a officer's gun, if they would
    simply comply with Police instruction,

It is a fact of life for people of color that they are often treated differently from others by police. There are times when the "police instruction" is absurd.

There are also times when black people are killed simply because they
are perceived as being in a place where they do not belong.

Employment/promotion discrimination seems to be a regional thing, or a case-by-case thing. Not a thing that happens everywhere all the time. I've seen it firsthand too. When I saw it, it was an Indian discriminating against a black man. Then years later, it was latinos discriminating against a white man - that white man being me - and it happened on numerous occasions. Where were the peaceful protesters when I needed them?

You're making a mistake: Only black people are treated differently by police - isn't that what the narrative said? Refer to the liberal bible page 1.

Everyone cannot see that the longer the riots go on, the more its an advertisement to vote for Trump. The average American does not want violence and mayhem in their country, they want peace and all of this nonsense to stop. Especially when a so-called peaceful protestor is shown helping themselves to

BLM came to my town, destroyed a few things, and now they're long gone. The damage they did here was only $750,000 but we are a small town and the repairs have not even begun. (BLM destroyed city property back on August 2nd.)

I think that when Black Lives Matter destroys city property, they should lose their right to protest in that city. After all, people lose their right to own guns at certain points in their lives, so other rights should be used as leverage too.

So how can you be sure it was BLM protesters that did that?

This is a small town, we don't have arson every day. When BLM is burning buildings and police cars all over the USA, then they come to our park and leave with it in flames, I choose reality over political correctness.

This is also a Democrat town. We do what's politically correct I guess, and in this case that involves turning our backs on the city's poorest children in favor of BLM, all because of George Floyd & his stupid fake $20.
