20 years ago, it seem impossible to have a multitrack recorder in your home. Today
2020, not just multitrack recorder but the whole audio processer unit also. I am
currently using Logic Pro X... In the next 5 years, what do you think will happen?

We will be making music with stones and horns because society will have self-destructed by then.

Logic Pro X rocks! The closest thing to a recording studio you'll ever get. I love the mixing console on it. GarageBand is pretty good too. Cakewalk Sonar is pretty incredible. Reason is cool too. Adobe Audition is also amazing.

I don't think that's really true.. In the mid 90s, I know someone who had a 4-track multi-track recorder that used cassette tapes. It supported 4 tracks because cassettes were 2-sided and stereo (resulting in 4 audio tracks that could be recorded). It was a small device and I don't think it was terribly expensive.

Oa? Today 2020, not just multitrack recorder but the whole audio

I've occasionally used Mixcraft in Windows to record music. It seems we have a lot available right now. Who knows what will happen in 5 years.

One of the 4 track recorders for home use was Tascam but I believe others made them too.

Okay, so to summarize, these products are rated as:

    "rocks"
    "pretty good"
    "pretty incredible"
    "cool"
    "amazing"

Can you provide some substance to those ratings? Which one of
those is the BEST? Which one do you recommend if you can only
    use *ONE*?

Reaper. Or ProTools. Or maybe Studio One. :-)

    Thanks. :-)
