I personally rarely use office apps unless it is in a collaborative setting so I end up needing google docs, or something similar that allows multiple people to simultaneously edit the same file. Also having to actually install an office suite on my computer feels like an outdated concept

What if you need to write a formal letter/response to <whatever>? Like
a request for information, or a letter to an official organization or something? That's not collaborative, it's just personal. Not

Microsoft 365 has decent web-based apps, too. I go through periods at
work where I do everything in the office web apps, since my other apps
are web-based, too. Makes more sense to switch browser tabs than to
    switch between apps.

Onedrive and installed Office apps allow for online collaboration just
    like the web apps do.

Do you ever update your resume or write cover letters to apply to jobs? That's one thing I do most frequently that I use an office app for (lately I've been using LibreOffice).

Hence why I said "personally". I never found myself needing to use a desktop office suite for any such task. I usually just use overleaf/sharelatex if I'm writing something that needs printing, otherwise I am not really used to office apps outside of "collaboratively editing docs or spreadsheets at work". I'm sure other users find more value in having office installed, I haven't since I was in high school
