    It was quite common from the late 2000s up through 2015 to enforce this throttled limit, but alas, no more.

    Kinda funny you mention that, I didn't get my first, "real," smartphone until after I graduated high school in 2013 because my parents didn't want to pay for a data plan, and even then I could only use a few hundred MB a month. But, then in 2016, we moved to Israel and we got unlimited mobile data for cheap because that's always been common here lol.
