That's a great one as well.

Here's a fantastic "greatest hits" compilation of his:

Two other GREAT songs on there are "The Last in Line" and "Lock up
    the Wolves".

He was a wonderful person -- so humble, grateful for the life he had, funny, and generous. He did a lot of charity work in his short time here.

A lot of people don't think of hard-rock/heavy-metal performers that way,
but I have always heard he was a good guy. :)

It is funny the subject pops up. I have been listening to Rainbow's albums and that song was playing right now.

I actually prefer his solo career, but I like the Egypt song better myself. I think he played it very safe going solo, not doing anything weird or groundbreaking, but most of his stuff was very sloid.

MOTSM was a great song. You can hear on his solo efforts lots of previous stuff ripped off. The guitar on MOSM was used on his solo efforts (i think holy diver but can't remember exact song) almost verbatim.

    Catch The Rainbow
    Rainbow Eyes
    When A Woman Cries
    Don't Talk To Strangers

    Pure vocal beauty...

    Thanks,

Other than MTV, it seemed like the only way to discover new bands was to subscribe or read several magazines that covered whatever genres of music you
followed. With the internet and ability to hear demo tracks, I'm amazed some
    bands aren't more prevalent.

Man O War had the most awesome album covers.

I love the covers, they tell you exactly what is inside :-)

My way of discovering bands was borrowing CDs from my father. Later I started paying attention to whatever people of similar tastes was listening to. I think I have never discovered a band due to direct media exposure.

I have a couple a nephew in the music business. His biggest hurdle is electronic media. If you don't get your music carried by the iTunes, Google, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, etc, you don't have a chance.

His point is that the market is fragmented. If a person has bought-in to one service, he/she is not likely to use the other services. Because of the customer behavior, you have to spend a bunch of time getting your stuff on many networks.

You are correct, man o war covers were epic. Some bands with
    covers i really appreciated were

    ELO
    BOSTON
    KISS
    SLAYER
IRON MAIDEN (some of the best ever)
    DIO
    MEGADEATH

All good, and I'd have to put Iron Maiden and Dio as #1 and #2.
Every single Maiden cover is great. Eddie!
